Pump when baby is STTN?

Do you wake up to pump when baby starts sleeping through the night? My little guy has been sleeping 6 to 7 hours now and I haven't done any pumping yet. I realize that if he was sleeping nine or 10 hours I would definitely want to pump but for six hours is it necessary? Does this affect my supply? Thanks for the input!

Hmm...not sure if I would for 6 hours because I'm lazy I probably would have if baby had slept any longer at 4-5 weeks old though just because I don't think my milk supply had really regulated at that stage.

Having said that, my wee one has been sleeping 11 hours most nights since about 11 weeks (now 15 weeks) and I haven't pumped but only because I think my milk supply has regulated to what my LO wants now. The nights she does wake (sometimes once, sometimes twice) there is always milk there for her but I would maybe pump once for another few weeks if baby sleeps longer than 6 hours xx

Not unless you are wanting to get a freezer stash.
Otherwise leave it to supply and demand and maybe hand express a little for comfort of necessary.

I let my boy sleep but I pump one side after he is done feeding off the other boob when he wakes up.

I didn't (and wouldn't) because your baby doesn't need milk during that time so why would you want your boobs to think they need to make milk? I'd only express milk if I was really uncomfortable (and then just enough to take the edge off) or if I had supply issues and needed to bump it up... or if I wanted to store some milk. I wouldn't do it no matter how long baby slept, unless for one of those reasons.

So glad you asked this!!! Was wondering myself. My LO started sleeping also and I wondered if it would affect my supply in some way. Glad we could just enjoy the sleep!
