Pumping and dumping???

I went out last night for a meal and few drinks with OH so i got home and pumped and dumped lke a good girl But i only got about 1/2 oz out of each boob cos it was 12 mdnight and my boobies were pretty empty.

Is this enough to get the alcohol out of the milk??? I went to bed after and just fed LO as normal at 7am this morn??

Pumping and dumping is a myth. Alcohol passes out of your milk the same way it passes out of your bloodstream - as it is processed by your liver and metabolised.
The rule of thumb is if you are sober enough to drive (ie one or two drinks over a couple of hours), then you are sober enough to breastfeed. Here is an excellent site on alcohol and nursing:

Yeah as Sarah says it won't rid your milk of alcohol. The reason most people express then dump the milk is coz they don't want to become engorged if they haven't fed bubs for a while

I couldn't pump and dump....it would break my heart to throw it away so I just don't drink, I'm mad enough anyway and don't need to drink to be the life and soul
