ok so I watch way to much TLC and baby story lol

Is it possible to pump only and not BF ,,as some of you know max is almost 4 months and well hes not keen on suckling anymore but will drink boob milk any chance he has so my questions is If I start to pump every 2 hrs ..and drink loads and do what i need to ..mabye have a beer lol will i one day be able to have more then one onz? I want him to have this milk till he at least one I dont care what sacrifice i need to do lol

Max dose breast feed and empty me out only in the am right when hes waking up ..so they get some sort of stimulation ..BTW i have the medela mini electric any good ?

any ideas how i can get this milk flowing lol I will update this tread so i keep track of my progress :)

right now :
pumped 15 min on each result: 1/2 onz ... long way to go :(

You need to make sure that the pump is latched correctly, you should drink lots of water, and some people find a warming towel helpful. Also try and pump regularly, just like you'd do with breastfeeding, as this will help to stimulate your body and encourage it to produce more.

Some people can pump only, some can't.

Good luck!

Ok so my nipple is in the center of the pump and milk is coming out ok not much ATM but some at least and it feels like BF ..so I think its working also yeah im drinking so much water i feel a deep connection with my bathroom lol sorry TMI

Whats a warming towel ? sorry blond moment

A warming towel is just that... a warm towel lol! Or warm facecloth, you can went the facecloth or put a towl in the dryer (or whatever) and use that.

It may take a bit to get into the routine and used to using the pump more too... Good luck!

I also have a deep connection with the bathroom... glad to hear it doesn't end after birth LOL!!!

If the pump isn't working, try hand expressing - many women don't get anything with the pump but can get loads by hand. That said I struggle to get more than an oz from both breasts, yet I've got loads of milk.

yeah i do get more from hand but not much more lol hey right now its worth a try if this dosent work ill stop for good ..

any idea how long it could take for my milk to get right

Production cues do not take very long in a woman that is an established breastfeeder.

I would assume, if you stimulated your nipples often, you could see an increase in output within a day or two.

You still may find it very difficult to be able to pump a days worth of feeds every day. Very few women can express successfully to that degree. Ragirl is probably the only one I know of here who has done it long term. (over a year... for two kids). You may want to private message her - I haven't seen her on in a while. Shes just had a baby herself ;)

Answered your pm, but wanted to add, I have the Medela "Pump in Style," couldn't remember if I told you that.
