If you want to wait 6 weeks to pump, I can understand that. DH can really shoulder some burden for you at night during that first 6 weeks. If you can get your newborn to feed sidelying, DH can get up with the baby, diaper, and then bring the baby to you to feed, and then burp and settle the baby back to sleep. You can seriously sleep right through the feed if you are sidelying. It's brilliant!
 
That is still what DH does. It makes it much easier on me :)
 
It would b nice to have him help but night time feedings are important for keeping your production up unfortunately. I would ask him to help by burping baby when you're done and changing babies diaper. That way you can get back to sleep a little quicker :thumbup:
