I just started temping to make sure I ovulate. Well I've been reading you need a BBT thermometer. The one I gave is the Vicks fast reader or whatever. I'm not sure if I should be using this or a different kind. What is everyone's thoughts? It doesn't have the 2 numbers after decimal point only 1. Will it do ? Or should I buy a new one.

I would buy a bbt one. You can get them online. I recommend one that remembers the temp next time you turn it on, because you maintaining the schedule of temping can lead to a lot of tired temping and you want to be able to just turn it off and go back to sleep.

Hmm ok. That's a good idea. But I might have to wait till next cycle if I don't get pregnant cause I don't want to buy it then not need it lol. Do you prefer any certain one ?

I agree with ltweety you need one with 2 numbers after the decimal point. It wouldn't be accurate enough otherwise. And also try to get one that remembers that temp when you turn it back on again - it helps as I often go back to snoozing a bit before picking up my phone to enter it in FF. One word of warning, try not to over analyse your temps after O. It's so hard but I found it took me on an emotional roller coaster (as if TTC isn't enough of one anyway!) I cried over dips, got excited over rises and it became a bit too much. I'm thinking of ditching it next cycle - if you look at my past two charts you'll see what I mean (although I wasn't TTC on the first chart) It's fab for helping with predicting O though. Good luck. Xx

I just want to know for O. So if I get cross hairs I might just not temp after that so I don't get consumed lol

That's a good plan. Also, I was reading another of your posts and would recommend you don't put too much stock into what FF says about when you are going to ovulate as your history on FF is so short. It sounds like it's basing it on the cycle post methotrexate, which really wouldn't be much of an indicator. Just use your OPKs and temp and you'll know when it's coming.

I took out my cycle in July. So I think I'll just stick to every other day BD unless I get discharge normally like I do and I'll BD more often. It's really frustrating

I know, I just want to get back to normal!
