Question about co-sleeping

Hi everyone,

I'm Olivia, 18 and pregnant with my first and I had a question that I thought you all who have had your babies would be able to answer for me..

For those of you who have co-slept(?) how long did/do you keep doing it for? and how hard was it to have them start sleeping in their own bed for them or you?

Hey Olivia! I am from New Zealand too where abouts in NZ are you? And I co-slept for the first 6 weeks with Ivy as she refused to sleep in bassinet. Then when she was 6 weeks I tried her in her bassinet and swaddled her and she has slept in there ever since I think the swaddling really helped

I co slept with my son basically form start as midwife told me too as i was getting no sleep due to my sons constant demands to breastfeed and i was gettting no sleep . I co slept with him until he was 11 months as he would only sleep next to me no matter what we tried . At 11 months he finally went into a cot . Think he was ready for his own space as it was sooo easy to get him in after months of battleing ~(didn't sleep through mind lol)

Ameie i co slept with from start but she has been in her own cot for last 3 weeks as she is sleep through night and she doens't care where se sleeps at night lol . Hate it though - she is only next to me but feel lost without her lol xx

I was always too nervous to co-sleep but when LO was 5 months I though 'oh she can come in with me for 20 minutes before getting up'. Well that 20 minutes got longer and longer and now I'm struggling with her going in her cot She starts out in the cot but by about 2 or 3am she comes in with me

I co-sleep w/ my son. Have been doing it since birth and am still doing it now, it's nice but he's getting bigger and I'm having a hard time putting him in his own bed.

I LOVE CO-SLEEPING.
When OH goes to work early, she stirs and wakes up, straight in bed with me
and shes fast asleep again
Usually wakeup and shes gripping my finger in her sleep

We started co-sleeping at around 3-4 weeks when he started to get colic. We still cosleep now and he s a bit over 4 months.
He still naps on his own and he starts off in his own bed at night. It has been a challenge to get him to but not as hard as I thought.
I would start putting him in his own bed all night but he wakes up way too often for feeds still.
