As the colief is a bit more complicated than infacol etc.. You have to let the water cool to a warm temp, then add the colief... Then wait 30 minutes until you can use it.
As you can imagine, during the night this is going to be a nightmare!
My LO only gets up once in the night for a feed. Do you think it would be ok to make up the feed before bed at 11ish and put it in the fridge to then use at 2.30?

I thought if you put in more drops (exact info on bottle) and don't intend to use bottle until after 4 hours then you can pre-make them. Its been a long time since we used colief but when we did use it we made them in advance but there was definitley instructions for doing this.
Just thought i would mention ( assuming you are formula feeding) that since colief is so expensive we used it till the bottle finished and then switched him to comfort milk, which apparently is as good as using the colief (comfort milk has less lactuse i believe, and colief just breaks down lactouse so they do the same thing) when we made this switch our LO was fine and his colic was well controlled.

Pop colief straight in babies mouth then give bottle. My hv said this was fine as that's how breast feeding mamas have to do it! Can't exactly put it in breast lol.
Works just the same xxx

I had heard this was fine for infacol but not too sure for colief? - don't want to sound like i am saying your wrong, but i have never heard that advice before xxx

I used colief for abit but she had reflux so did not really help but I would add 2 drops once the bottles were cooled and then put them in he fridge for at least 4 hours then re heat! I believe u can use them upto 12 hours! I believe u have to leave it to works it magic as such as it breaks down he lactose on the milk so if u give it to ur lo to quick it won't make a difference as it hasn't had time to work! If it works for you try and get it on prescription! Xx

After using colief in 6 feeds now, it has actually made my LO worst. She hasnot settled at all, has had very little sleep in the last 24 hours and hasn't improved her wind so we are gonns stop using it.

Well if your breast feeding and baby has colic, the only thing you can do Is drop it in their mouths-that's the instructions on the back of the box.
It isn't ideal, I'm pretty sure it breaks the lactose down better when used correctly, but for 1-2 night feeds I'm sure it doesn't make any difference, and like I said, my hv recommended it xxx

If you're breast feeding you're meant to mix the Colief with some expressed breast milk and give it before the feed.

Op - it took a few days for the Colief to work for Ollie but when it did it was so worth it. Re: night feeds yes. You can premake the feeds with only 2 drops rather than 4 but you need to leave it for 4 hours before using it to allow it to take effect (the process takes longer in cold temperatures). You need to use the bottles within 12 hours of adding the Colief - if you don't its ineffective so you need to throw it out.
