Hi Ladies,

I am 23 weeks and 3 days along. I had no problems with constant pressure on bladder or having to pee every 5 minutes in the first trimester. Is it normal to have this in the late second trimester??? It's driving me nuts. It's a very uncomfortable feeling, the urge to pee never stops. When I then give in and go there is not much coming out.

Anyone else having experience with this? Or does it simply mean LO is lying low? I don't know, hm.

Any thoughts?

Thaaanks!

I have the same problem on and off at the moment. It is usually later on in the day, around now i can feel it starting right now... Im interested to ser replies to this

It's totally normal to start needing to pee more as the baby gets bigger and plays football with your bladder.
But...feeling the urge and then not actually having anything come out (I get the urge a lot, and only a trickle comes out) could be a sign of UTI? Do you have any pain when you do go? Are you drinking enough? It could just be baby lying on your bladder, so giving the feeling of needing the loo, without the real need - if that makes sense?

Good practice for the third trimester I've heard ;)

I shall post a link that was floating around this forum earlier. If you watch where your bladder is in the video, you see how quickly it becomes a thin little line. :)

Uhhh, I hope it's not UTI. I've been on quasi bed rest for the past two weeks and couldn't really go about my normal hygiene regime as i normaly do. I am quite prone to get UTI, but so far it does not hurt. Here's hoping.... and ahrrrg the link....that's frightening...indeed. :dohh:

first trimester was bad, then i had a break for like 2 weeks, now its even worse :(

Hm, any remedies anyone of you can think of or heard of??? :flower:

I've def got this, and i'm getting the only being able to pee a little bit thing too! I find leaning forward as i get to the end of a wee really helps to squeeze a bit more out. That video makes me realise why i feel like i've got a bladder the size of a walnut!! I thought baby was meant to lift up and away from your bladder in second tri and then the problems happen again? But it started straight away with me and seems to be getting worse!!

Hi, ive had this since 14 weeks lol, im 24 weeks now and still have it but maybe not so bad today, i ahve good and bad days, this is my 2nd baby and didnt have it with my first, ive been tested several times for uti's and all come back negative!! saw consultant several times, baby is lying low and also my stomach muscles are rubbush so will feel more pressure, also baby is low so i have to go for a growth scan so im guessing baby hasnt moved up yet as not big enough. The main thing is the baby is fine and so am i, but i know how your feeling its veryyyyyy frustrating and ive in recent weeks felt really low cause of this symptom, the minute i get out of bed i need a wee, and even after going may need one five minutes later and like you hardly anythink. Ive learnt to ignore the feeling of needing a wee espicially if ive just been as know theres nothing in my bladder, and as long as i know where all the toilets are when i go out im fine lol. Drs keep saying it will go but as ive had it now for 10 weeks, may just be how my pregnancy will be. And by the time baby goes up it will be ready to come back down lol. Its very normal to want to pee lots though as long as you dont have an infection dont worry but your not the only one with this annoying symptom lol xxx

It probably sounds silly, but I found quite a cool remedy :haha:.
If I can feel my LO lying low or he's constantly kicking me in the bladder, I get down on all fours, stick my bum in the air and wiggle my hips as much as possible ! :haha: It must make my baby 'fall' forwards, so he's further up in my belly, because usually afterwards he's higher up and kicking my belly, not my bladder :haha: x

Ohhhh, I love, love, love this!!! Will definitely give it a try!!! :haha:
Thanks so much to all of you for sharing. Feels good to know I am not the only one who has this problem.... :flower:

Wishing you all a good day!

Me too! I'm okay when sitting because i think baby gets pushed up? But as soon as i stand i need the loo, and then when i go sometimes its hardly anything! I really hope baby moves up soon because i don't think i can handle this for the next 22 weeks!!

I'm so glad I found this thread, as I was about to post my question. I was also under the impression that the need to urinate lessens in the 2nd tri, and it did for me for a week (literally) and now I'm up every 30-60 minues ALL night long. It's not so bad during the day, but at night it's horrible. I was starting to get worried, as I thought something was wrong. I love to sleep and would till noon if I could, and have in the past, now the past week, I'm up between 4 and 6 am every day and it's driving me CRAZY! I think it's because I'm up so often using the bathroom. Go figure. I thought we should sleep now as when baby comes that will be a thing of the past, but I think the baby is already keeping me up!

you can hun, i said that at 16 weeks and im now 24 and a half weeks, it is bloody annoying but your get through it. Im unlucky you may find yours may go, i was told as the uterus rises up it can push down on the bladder and cause you to want to wee all the time, for some people when its lifted they get relief, so you may find it going xx
