Question for mom's who switched to formula after breastfeeding

For the first 3 weeks my little boy was breastfed but I switched to sensitive formula about 3 days ago to try to ferret out the problem for his excessive bad gas. I know that breastfed babies don't have to poop every day because they utilize it so well. My question is how long after you switched to straight formula did your baby's bowel movements get regular and the "normal" amount recommended for ff baby?
Monday morning early he had a dirty diaper, and then nothing all day Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night I tried a trick my mom told me and he pooped quite a lot. But he hasn't had one since. He doesn't act constipated or tortured, just a little gassy. He has wet diapers out the wazoo, so I'm not worried about dehydration. I am going to call my pediatrician tomorrow morning, but seeing as how I won't be able to get a hold of them till tomorrow I figured I would start here. Thanks guys!

My DS was going once every 5 days when EBF. We introduced 1 bottle of formula a day at 16 weeks and within 3 days he was going daily.

My LO is now ff and she goes pretty much every other day......sometimes...rarely we get two days in a row. When she was younger and ebf she went at least once per day.

When Finley was BF he would poo about 4 times a hour, all day and night we went through about 50 nappies a day. Since being on formula he goes around 2-5x a day x

FF babies can still go several days without a poo. DS didn't start pooing every day until he was about 4 months old.

Hello,

I breast fed for 3 weeks then went onto formula.. it was every 3 days or so and he suffered bad gas...
The past week he has been going daily so it took Caleb about 4 weeks to get used to the fomula and to start going daily.
Some cooled boiled water helps with the digestion I think and he always goes a few hours after a little water.

it took sophie about 2 weeks to totally get adjusted to formula- she had bad gas pains, got constipated and was pretty unhappy- but it all disappeared within about 2 weeks- When she was a newborn she would poo once every second day- and as as her bottles got bigger it went to daily.
