how long did it take those ladies who have had m/c and had d&Cs to conceive again? I am worried it will take longer this time as I have had this operation and it may have hindered things.

Also, I am having blood tests next week to find why I keep miscarrying. Has anyone had this? If they cannot find anything wrong with the bloods, then I will be referred to a gyno. Anyone had experience of this?

Sorry for stacks of questions xxx

My friend who was a few weeks ahead of me pregnancy wise had a missed miscarriage followed by a d&c last year...she didn't even have a period....got pregnant immediately and then was only 8 weeks behind me, she now has a lovely little lad called fernley:happydance:

Good luck babe....:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year, discovered in March but i was made to wait several weeks to see if it would happen 'naturally'. It didn't. I therefore had a ERPC early April. My cycle was a bit confused after that for a while, but I conceived again in August and am just 16 weeks pregnant.

The time between ERPC and conceiving seemed like an eternity, each month felt like a year as i desperately wanted to be pregnant again, but when I tried to relax about it and threw myself into my work, nature took over. I guess it was just when my body was ready again.

Please try and relax, there are no set time scales but I believe it will happen when your body is ready x

I m/c in oct and im now ovulating on my second cycle. My SIL got preg on the same cycle as m/c

Hi hun, I didn't have to have a D&C but it took five weeks from my first bleed for all the hormones to leave my system. I got my first period shortly after that. It's been 4 months since that period (although this cycle doesn't count as we haven't been together at the right time)
I don't think it will make a difference whether you have to go through the hell of m/c naturally or with surgery. I think some girls are 'fortunate' enough that they concieve right away (how can anyone who has gone through this be fortunate i ask myself) while others take a while. Try not to worry too much about the implications of how it happened pet, I think nature will just take whichever course it wants to regardless of whether it was surgical or not. I hope you get your answers and your sticky bean soon though hun. Life just isn't fair sometimes and I hate the fact that you are in here, it just shouldn't happen, you deserve your litttle one :hugs:

Hi Rumpskin,

I just wanted add i totally agree with Leo. There's no set time...its just nature. It took me 7 months ( i had a d&c feb 22) but i honestly believe its just a matter of when it happens it happens. Although the wait, particularly when you've had a mc seems more excrutiating than before...:hugs:

All the best and sorry for your loss Rumpskin. I agree with Leo...it shouldnt happen to anyone but least of all to you!

,Omi xxx

I had a natural miscarriage August 11 and got my BFP last weekend, so approximately 3 months later. I know exactly how frustrated you feel because I was there not too long ago as well. You'll get your BFP again too. Try to think positive!

Thanks darling and congrats on your news, gives me some hope xxx

I had a missed miscarriage and an emergency d & c and chose to wait 3 months so I could properly grieve, heal physically, and prep myself with vitamins and everything for my next attempt. The time really helped me. It is really up to you. Keep in mind that during a d & c they do scrape out the uterine lining to the wall but since it replaces itself every month that isn't a huge issue, many people have gotten pregnant right away. You may want to wait only because of your history. Have you seen a genetics counselor or specialist because of the recurrence? I'm so sorry for your loss and am thinking of you! :hugs:

Hi hun, I had a mc at 6 weeks 1 period then caught again, unfortunatley i mc'd that one at 6 wks too then i had 1 period and caught again, almost assumed I would miscarry this one but made it to 18 weeks so far, i have no idea why i lost the other 2 babies its just one of those horriible things that happens, good luck hun xxx

hello i had a d & c 3 weeks ago and i feel the same, i just want my own, i was told whenever ur ready, i hope i will get pregnant soon, i just do not want to wait this was my 2nd m/c but im deffo not giving up, i hope ur ok, this is my first wk back in work and it has been a very long wk and tried my hardest not to get upset, but hey its friday now, and im praying soon our time will come take care xxxxxxxxxxxx

My first m/c (december '07) I didnt need a d&c just a little help from the doctor removing clots as I had quite heavy bleeding and was having trouble with them coming out themselves. I conceived around 2 months later. My second m/c (june '08 ) I was 14wks so I had a d&c and I am still trying. This is my 4th cycle and a little over 5months since the m/c. They did testing on the fetus to find out if she had chromosome disorders but everything came back fine. They didnt do any actual testing on Shawn or I. I hope you find answers soon babe. xx
