does any one know how i can boost my credit rating? at the mo i have a classic current account with lloyds and a 250 o/d, i thought that all i need if that as i rarely go over, i have a savings account which 100 goes in each month and im on the save the change! i also have a next and littlewoods account which ive never been in arrears with and only use when lo needs clothes or for little presents around christmas n birthdays and that about it. the only reason my credit rating so far hasnt gone up much is halifx never closed down my old account even though i signed the forms ect and they never told me it was still open i use to get all my statement through there site so obviously me thinking it was closed never went on, until they rang and said u need to pay of some money nothing is going in yet interesnt is coming out everymonth, cheeky buggers lol. i was with barclays too, but recently changed to lloyds as its where hubby does banking so we thought it was easier to both bank with same bank as i do all the online banking and was easier to change miine as bills are set up on his.

i was thinking about trying to see if lloyds would give me a credit card-probs doubtful but herd they boost it, n then using it for my spendings instead of using my normal card then paying it off each month with my card if that makes sense, plus then its there if we ever need something and dont have money yet cant wait, yet i dont actually know if this will help or just get me into money troubles. im good with money but dont understand credit cars all to much , like which are best ect .x.

thank u all xxx

:hugs:

Capital One credit cards are a good place to start. The interest rates on them are quite high though, so I recommended only using the card for a few things each month and paying it off in full. Because they charge so much, there quite easy to get. But it would look good on your credit file if you're paying off a credit card every month.

if you have credit accounts already and have never been in arrears i would check with a credit reference agency first off to see if you actually NEED to improve it hun x
