I had to treat my daughters hair for head lice and didnt think to put gloves on or anything so got it on my hands, wrists and lower arms. That night (although not right away)I started getting a rash on my hands and lower arms (especially underneath but since i am covered in freckles this just may be where I can see it more clearly!). It is a little itchy and sensitive but really nothing major. It seemed to go away today but has come back this evening a little more. I feel fine and no rash anywhere else as far as I can see.I am also nearly 20 weeks pregnant although not sure if this could be anything to do with that.

The rash is very small red/pink bumps some of it is small red/pink flat spots if that makes sense.

Does this sound like it could be a reaction to the headlice treatment or could it be something else totally? I havent got any cream or anything in the house so was thinking of going to the pharmacy tomorrow but last time I went the refused to sell me pretty much everything because i had a visible bump lol - would I need to call my midwife first for an idea of what I can use or is pretty much anything safe in hand/arm cream form.

hope that all makes sense!

thanks

It could be a reaction to the head lice treatment, our skin reacts different when we're pregnant to things then it normally would. I doubt its something else because you say it came up after the treatment.

Have you got any zinc? nappy rash cream? you could give that a go. Just show the pharmacist because they sometimes have an idea what a rash could be, they have for me in the past.

If its worrying you though, call your midwife to ease your mind.
