I'm looking for some advice on weaning from breastfeeding form the ladies who've already gone through it.

My daughter is 10.5 months old now, and we nurse about 4 times a day - when she wakes up, before each nap (2) and then before bed.

Shes very used to nursing to sleep, and its hard to get her to go to sleep doing anything other than nursing. Has anyone else had this challenge before?

I know that going slow is key, and cutting out one feeding at a time. Since she's used to nursing to sleep for naps and nighttime, should I start by cutting the morning one out?

Any tips appreciated! Thanks :flower:

Hi

We still BF 3 times a day, but at 10 months it was more like 4 during the day and 1 or 2 at night. What I did was cut 1 daytime BF out and nurse baby at lunch instead of right before naps. Few of fussy days and now she settles on her own. I kept morning and evening feed as before because in the morning she wakes up starving and it takes too long to whip up breakfast, so I BF and do breakfast few hours later. Daytime you can substitute with regular milk or dairy products. In the evening I still BF but in few months will slowly cut that out as well.

Hope that helps :)
