I had the worst night ever with Alasdair last night. His newborn nights had nothing on this. Basically from 10pm onwards he woke up every half hr. Then at 2am he was screaming. I tried taking him in to bed with me, giving him some water, giving him ibuprofen, giving him dentinox gel, leaving him to it, cuddling him, walking up and down with him, turning the light on and off (occasionally the shock of this worked for a couple of minutes!). He refused to eat any solids yesterday and has a bit funny with his milk, like being really sick so I figured maybe he was feeling better and was hungry. So I gave him 5oz. Which he had and when I took the bottle away he started screaming again. I tried to put his dummy in thinking I didn't want to overload him but 30mins later I ended up giving him 3 more oz. Which he settled on (this is about 5.30am now) and fell asleep next to me in bed. I'm just getting off to sleep when he starts choking. I frantically turn the light on while trying to roll him on to his side. He was sick everywhere. All over the bed, my pillows and himself. I reckon the whole 8 oz came up. Then though, he falls back to sleep! I obviously have to get him out of his sleeping bag and sleepsuit (soaking in sick) so this wakes him up so he starts screaming again, I shove him in something easy and put him in his cot (screaming) while I changed the sheets and put a towel over the sick on the mattress. I eventually got him back to sleep at about 6.15ish and he slept til 8am. I'm so tired and I don't know what's up with him. He isn't crying he's actually screaming, like he's in pain. I don't think it can be teething. I keep thinking he's poorly but then he seems fine for a couple of hours again. Then the whole cycle of screaming, being sick and sleeping follows! Maybe I should take him to the Dr or something?

sorry this is long, I usually feel like I know what to do for Alasdair but at the moment I'm so confused!

i just read your post and had a night just like that last night!! im sooo tired! so only slept for a hour and a half from 10pm-8.30am. i was up every half hour with her.
shes usually such a good baby but she just wouldnt stop crying, i tried every thing!!

im going to look for something that helps her sleep at night..there must be something she can take! xx

:hugs: I'd take him in myself since he keeps getting sick :( Hope he feels better soon

i hope he feels better soon, but i would agree that drs seems best especially if you are concerned at all - you know him best and know whats unusual for him
