Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Tasha how are you getting on hun?

Can't believe 3 of us from that ttc thread all those years ago are all here now.

I've always been here

Six years, 15 miscarriages and a stillbirth later :nope:

I'm good, tww is long and boring though. You dano?

Yeah, just waiting for bfn and my post pregnancy blood/urine screen so I don't have to worry about any sneaky molar cells. All boring really.
Decided to take up running to clear my mind of negativity. So far I'm just sore and grumpy lol!! :haha:

Crazy what you've been through Tasha, you always amaze and inspire me with your strength.
2ww, exciting!! I'm useless at being patient with poas! (Or anything for that matter) Fingers tightly crossed for you xxx

Sorry this was meant to be in reply to Hope.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of your losses. I have to admit I'm not sure how much more I can take. Have you had a happy ending?

Thanks for the tip. My GP has actually arranged a number of blood tests for me. The hospital where I had my erpc was supposed to arrange them but they never got done so hopefully that could speed things up (assuming they're the right tests).

No happy ending yet, Its only been 8w since we lost isaac

I was put to sleep and had emergency c sect so We can't try again till 2015

Xx

Hope everyone's going ok and sorry to see some new faces

I had one successful pregnancy followed by 4 miscarriages at 12, 16, 4 and 14 weeks. Besides the early loss the others were all missed miscarriages where luckily we didnt have to wait long to find out about them. Never found any reasons for our losses except I had a biopsy done late last year which found I had high nk cells. So when i got a bfp this year I got put on steroids, estrogen, progesterone and intripilid transfusions which seem to be working so far

Kirin, I have wanted to give up so many times. After my last miscarriage in may last year I was determined Iwasnt going to try again and yet something kicked up inside of me and wanted to keep going

I'm 19+1 today and had my morphology scan which looked good. can't believe Ive gotten this far and hoping that some confidence kicks in soon. Just thought I'd share because I know sometimes it's inspiring reading some positive stories (obviously when you're in the mood to)

Hi, just wondering if I can join you ladies. I've only had two miscarriages, but I'm also infertile. So we've already started RPL testing. Earlier in the summer, I tested positive for Lupus Anticoagulant Syndrome. They're making me wait 10 weeks til retesting to confirm. I'm getting blood drawn for retesting next Tuesday, the 26th.

Very nervous. I actually really hope I test positive again. If I do, we'll dose me up with Clomid and try to get me pregnant again, using daily Lovenox/Clexane. But if I test negative, my OB/GYN is going to refer me to a FS for further testing. And that worries me. My insurance isn't going to cover any fertility testing. :(

Welcome, GP!

Ginny
That's great news! I know everyone is different, but I like hearing how well PARL ladies are getting on as it gives me hope. I've just had my NK cells tested too.

That's quite a long time to wait, Hope - is it because an emergency section causes more trauma to the body than a scheduled one? Hope you and DH are managing somehow to cope.

Emergency c sect do cause more trauma, with a scheduled section they pull your stomach muscles apart as they are fibrous, with a crash section they are cut with a knife so take longer to recover

I might be able to try earlier, my gp told me to wait 3 months, my midwife told me 1 year so I was going to ask the obstetrician her opinion. I'm hoping too try jan time so that would be 6 months since Isaac. My appt with the obs isn't till October 15 th

Xx

Obviously depends on what your dr says and what you feel comfortable with, but someone I know conceived and had a baby through IVF which needed a section in the end. She was given the all clear to start the IVF process again for #2 6 months later and she feel pregnant with identical twins and I don't think there's any worry about her previous section. She'll be having another section though

think about you and Issac lots Hope x His due date mustn't be too far away? Hope you're going ok x

Well good luck Hope, I hope that you're allowed to try again when you want to :hugs:

I'm joining you ladies, even though I haven't actually miscarried my third yet - I'm waiting for nature to take it's course (or for the hospital to offer an alternative).

I'm so glad there are places online where I can talk to other women who understand what it feels like, as awful as it is that it has happened to us all.

Hi BebVern, sorry to hear that. Funnily enough I have been thinking about you the past couple of weeks cos you haven't been around Pirate's journal, and I wondered what was going on with you. Sorry to hear this is what's been happening. How far along were you? :hugs: to you.

Oh hi Squidg! Yes I've been taking some time away from BnB since my second BFP in April and following miscarriage in May; I thought maybe a break would help me to focus on other things. However I'm back after discovering there may now be a more serious issue than just 'bad luck' and am desperate for contact with others that have been through the same (I don't actually know anyone personally who has suffered 3 losses with no living children).

How are you doing? I'm guessing I've missed an awful lot...

Hello ladies looks like I'm on my 3rd loss in a row w 2 losses B4 my boys so totally of 5!!!

All of my losses being at the 5-6wk mark u think they would be able to help but I didn't get Any help even when I asked for it as soon as I saw a faint line!! I guess there isn't much they can do but there has to be a reason !!

My HCG started at 6 and doubled every 48hrs until I hit 258 and my dr was confident it was a viable pregancy well my HPT was still saying 1-2wks so I knew something was wrong went WED for another beta it was 226 and Fri 136 :(

I really don't understand why

Sorry to hear that, Sis4us. Has your doctor offered you any RPL testing or have you got someone in mind who can do it?

I'm ok thanks, I've had another couple of losses too, a really early one in April at 5 weeks and another MMC in June at about 6+3, found out at 8+2. So that's 5 now. I was on a protocol for the last one, but it obviously wasn't treating the right issue. So I recently went to Prof Quenby's implantation clinic in Coventry to be tested for NK cells; just waiting on results now. A lot of girls who've been there and treated have gotten their rainbows, so I'm hopeful! Has anyone at the hospital mentioned testing to you yet?

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses Squidg. Nobody should have to endure 5. :nope: Keep me updated on the NK cells, it'd be really interesting to hear what comes back. I'm keeping everything crossed that you get your rainbow!!

Not heard anything re: tests as they haven't actually 'confirmed' a MC yet. I have to go for a second scan on Friday to confirm no growth. It's a formality though as I know there's no way I'm 2w behind with my dates (as that works out I would have got my BFP at around 3dpo) and my symptoms are beginning to subside.
I've just ordered Lesley Reagan's book on miscarriage as I've heard a lot of excellent things about her (I think she's at St Mary's in London?) and have just got to play the waiting game... :coffee:

I've had all the test dine as I was getting Fertilty treatment B4 my 2nd loss but I found out I have MTHFR 2 variants!!

We werent getting any help and got a surprise BFP after our Vegas Vaca but sadly my numbers have dropped!!
I have to go for another beta Tom and asked for them to check my NK cells but she said I need Dr approval WTH!!
Sent a message to a new Dr as I'm so sick of them not helping me!!

I am deeply sorry for everyone's loses.

I am back again, just had miscarriage number four. These have been in the last year. Have been referred and waiting on my appointment in September.
