Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

I am also back here again, not a MC but another failed IVF attempt - number 3 now on top of 4 MC's and 2 chemical!

Sorry to all the others who find themselves here, lots of hugs to all xxx

Quick question - Has anyone on here had additional testing? I have been through the NHS RM clinic but thats very basic testing, they have found my genetic issue but i am not sure thats the whole story. So before our final go at IVF i want to have more testing done privately and I'm looking for any info you ladies may have on this. I am based in the west midlands x

Razcox have you had Nkc testing?

There are only two places I know that offer it for rpl, Coventry hospital which I paid £360 for consultation and uterine biopsy in 2012 and Epsom which test via bloods and I had that done last year.

If you google natural killer cells and recurrent miscarriage a lot comes up but also if you google natural killer cells and ivf a lot of stuff comes about raised natural killer cells in those that have had failed ivf.

I hope that helps, I'm so sorry :hugs:

Might be worth you looking at hidden infection testing with serum in Greece

I was on a fertility friend thread researching it and a lady there had had 18 failed ivf, found out she had hidden clamydia, took a course of antibiotics and her next ivf was successful

I've had the hidden infection test last October and tested positive for two infections myself. I took antibiotics but no retest

My next pregnancy i got to 27w so it may have helped, I did other things too so can't really say what got me so far with Isaac, I think it was a bit of everything

Xx

Hi Razcox, I remember you!
Just like Tasha, I went down the nk cells route and am currently (hopefully) expecting baby number two with that treatment. I also have a clotting issue but even with it treated I was still losing healthy babies so started looking further afield. I went to the miscarriageclinic.co.uk but seeing you're in the midlands I think Coventry might be closer. Look up Prof Quenby there. I'll keep everything crossed that your next ivf is successful! :dust:

Hi ladies. Hope anyone is welcome to post here? I am just in the mist of dealing with my third MMC and I'm hoping and wishing this ends naturally for once instead of another horrible procedure :( I have one precious DD born after my first MMC. Do you think I will be able to push my FS for tests around the reason why this keeps happening?

Hi ttc

Anyone is welcome that suffers from recurrent miscarriages

Sorry your going through a third loss and i hope it's over quickly for you . All of my miscarriage are missed mc's too

I think you might struggle to get testing because you have had a daughter in between. I think the guidelines are 3 in a row. It is a bit of a postcode lottery though so there is no harm in trying

Your gp can run a thyroid function test on you which is one if the tests a recurrent miscarriage clinic do

Xx

Thanks! I have a fertility specialist and see them in Ocotober and will raise it then. Also want more support in the first weeks if I concieve again... I get terrible morning sickness and feel like I'm left hugging the toilet every time without a viable baby or reason to be going through it :( x

Welcome ttcno2. I agree with what hope said, it's unlikely but still worth asking

Update on me

I got a bfp today it is very faint for 11dpo so not too hopeful. But thought I needed to share any way.

Oh tash have my fingers and toes crossed that these medsget a chance to do their magic xx

Fingers crossed here as well Tasha x

Nothing to report here - waiting for AF to show up and all the hormones to get the hell out of my system! Will be having a full pill break for a month which includes all my supplements as well to give my body a rest.

Everything crossed Tasha xxx

:hugs: razcox xx

Af here for me and bfn which is nothing short of a miracle. Only took 4 weeks this time.
Still not sure which way to go from here, can't seem to process the last miscarriage properly, it's like I was never pregnant at all.

I've been totally bowled over today.

I went to visit neversaynever (she use to be on this thread), a surprise visitor turned up , Padbrat (also use to be on this thread). We had a lovely day, boy can we talk

Anyway, they surprised me with some of the most beautiful gifts, all contributed by a lovely group of baby and bump ladies who I've shared this journey with

Feeling loved :)

I'm 24 and have had 3 miscarriages. My first was at 9 weeks when I started to bleed. Nothing had passed after a few days and I was offered a d&c which I had. Some three years later I had my second. I had an early scan at 6 weeks with a heartbeat and everything was fine. My second scan was at 14 weeks where I learned the baby was dead. This was different to the first as there was no bleeding which the dr described as a missed miscarriage. For this pregnancy I had another d&c. My third was just two months ago and two years after the second and happened abroad. A scan at 5 weeks showed sac etc but at week 8ish I started to bleed. I visited the hospital to be examined and was told my cervix was closed and this was a threatened mc. I left the hospital on top of the world thinking it was a scare. I arrived back at my hotel and my bleeding subsided and had stopped by morning. Early afternoon it started again and with clots. That night I couldn't stand up nor sit on the bed the bleeding was so heavy. I sat on the toilet for what felt like forever. I was in agony for a minute or so the. It would pass and come back again and so on. This went on for a while and must have been some sort of mini contractions. At 3am Thai time I felt what I can only describe as a big bubble and I felt the need to push it. Out of curiosity I caught it in a piece of tissue. Much to my shock it was the sac with the little baby inside. Surprisingly for me the sac was see through which I hadn't imagined. I stared at it in complete horror. My third pregnancy and it was gone. Again. The nurse told me the day before things should be fine. Why did she get my hopes up. Why us? Why me? Had I done something to deserve this? My little dead baby had a head and arms and legs and I stood thinking of everything with it in my hand. It felt like forever but it was probably only 2 minutes. Then I started screaming and my partner came in. He put it down the toilet. Suppose at the time we didn't know what else to do but in hindsight I really regret not having some sort of burial. Hindsights a wonderful thing.

I've had a bit of breakdown since this last mc and my relationship with my partner has also broken down.

I am struggling to accept my loss and worry about what the future holds. I'm awaiting investigation now and hoping to get some much needed answers.
