Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

2kids, I've heard the clinic is quite good with emails in case you wanted to ask any specific questions.

GingerPanda - hope everything goes well with your test results, good luck x

dsemcho - nausea is a good sign, good luck with your scan tomorrow, hoping you see a heartbeat :) x

Mrs R - it's so hard, I'm always terrified too. ginger's right, sometimes it helps to distance yourself from it, it's not easy though. Good luck x

Has everyone else found that recurrent loss has had a impact on every part of their lives? I've found it has really put a strain on relationships, there's so many people I have almost "lost" because of it. A friend of a friend had a late loss and said apart from losing the baby, the hardest thing was the strain it put on the relationships with those around her.

I found it had a huge impact on my work! I had to take so much time off for appointments, recovery, etc and my concentration was not very good. In the end I managed to change to part time hours and then I was made redundant. It worked out ok in the end but it was very stressful whilst going through it all :nope:

Petitpas - that sounds so stressful for you :(. I've found work difficult, you're right it's so hard to concentrate and the apts etc are hard to fit it in.

Re: immune issues, I have looked over some old test results and one is borderline for a low immune system rather than high. I think it's part of the white blood cell count. The test is for eosenophils (white blood cells, they defend against foreign invaders), mine was 0.04 and the lab range is from 0.04 to 0.40. I'm wondering if this means that my immune system can't be overactive and ending the pregnancies? have a clinic apt in a couple of months.

Good morning ladies,

blueblue, that's what I'm going to try my best to do even though I know it will be hard when I found out I'm pregnant again.

petitpas, thank you for the info! Very interesting! I can see how that could cause a problem.

AFM: CD 17, 3 days past ovulation. I actually tried doing the temping thing this cycle with my Fertility Friend app and today when I put my temp in my calendar changed and said I ovulated on Sunday which was CD 14!! How fun!! We BD'd on CD 10, 12 and 14 so I'm hoping we caught it. I was going to have us BD one more time yesturday (CD 16) but figured we were past the point of it doing anything, plus I was tired. Haha!! So I'm hoping I'm right. The only thing I have going on right now is my boobs are a tad sore. With my first 2 pregnancies my boobs got a bit sore around ovulation and then just continued to get super sore. So even thought it's not the greatest feeling in the world, I'm hoping they just keep getting more and more sore!! I'm going to test as soon as possible since I need to get in to have my clotting levels checked again as soon as I get a BFP to see if I will need to be put on Lovenox or not. So the sooner I can know I'm pregnant the better since I miscarry so early (5 1/2 weeks and 6 weeks). Fingers crossed!

Gingerpanda-My sister and my mom both had enlarged thyroids with nodules so they had partial removals done. For both, the ultrasounds were inconclusive as were the fine-needle aspirations, so they had part of it removed and tested. Came back negative so dr diagnosed benign cysts. I just wanted to say that I know it's scary to have this kind of diagnosis but there's a very likely chance it's just a benign lump.

Thanks, dairymomma. My doctor agrees with you. I'm not very worried. We're going to do a repeat ultrasound in 6 months just to check for changes. :)

I know how (sorta) that goes. Because my mom and my sis both had partial removals and lumps, my maternal grandmother has hypothyroidism, and my own history of RMC, my dr wants to manually check my thyroid at least once a year and we'll do bloods if I'm pg again. But good that your doctor is watching it and hopefully your followup shows improvement. Are you taking anything for it? I know I've responded well to an iodine supplement that was mentioned by my dr and my naturopath has me on selenium for thyroid support. Both are supposed to help with thyroid issues and I think one of them is prescribed for goiters-iodine I believe?

Morning ladies :)

Big day for me today, we are meeting with trust members at the hospital, 8 of them and 2 of us

Dreading it x

Oh hope, wishing you all the best! It'll be draining, for sure, but hopefully they will be sensitive and gentle and you will get some answers :hugs:

Blueblue, all my blood results have always been in the normal range. You might have been lower due to fatigue or recovery from a virus or something. I don't think it directly indicates or negates an nkcells issue. In any case, the nkcells testing itself is still controversial. In a way, many are treated based on their symptoms (recurrent miscarriages not responding to other treatment). I remember following a couple of ladies who used to be in this thread and tested negative for aggressive nkcells and yet when they started the treatment they still carried to term.

Hope - I hope you get the answers you need today x

Petitpas - thanks, that's really interesting, I'm going to speak to the hospital when I go.

Hope I hope that the meeting went well & you got some answers. Good luck :hugs:

Sending lots of hugs, Hope. :hugs:

I'm on 100mcg of levothyroxine at the moment. Doc says the goiter should start going down within 2 months. But I think it's already started to.

Good luck Hope!! :hugs:

GingerPanda, I'm glad you're getting it taken care of. All will be good!

going to the pregnancy center today. hoping they do some bloodwork but I think at this point it will only be paperwork.

Hello all - not sure if you remember my story but I was on my 4th loss with prolonged bleeding after the last miscarriage and they did some swabs and smear test to check etc.

Well it's been a total roller coaster - 10 days ago everything was normal and now I have a diagnosis of cervical cancer and I have to have a total hysterectomy in a few weeks.

I've lost 4 babies and now I loose the chance of ever having another and possibly even my life. Devastated.

OMG LPF, I am so sorry for your diagnosis. There are no words. I hope your op goes well and you make a full recovery xxx
