Wow where are you being seen? I have to wait 8 weeks from the date of my d&c until they will do anything for me at all, I'm at Torbay

HELP!!! Missed misscarriage still bleeding 6 weeks later


Just wondering if anyone can help, I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant back in may, I went for my 12 week scan and found there was no heartbeat, I opted for the misoprostol and ended up having to stay in hospital overnight as I haemorrhaged, I had a terrible time. Anyway it is now 6 weeks on and im still bleeding not heavy but occasional spotting, I have been having unprotected sex since about 2 weeks after the miscarriage as the bleeding did stop but started after a few days. I have been to the doctor and he said to leave it for another few weekd, what is happening with my body no one seems to be telling me anything and my doctor is useless, has anyone been in the same situation and also is it possible that I could be pregnant again?

Dan O - that's because you need your hormones to settle hun. You can get false positives on the blood clothing tests if you have them any earlier. The earliest is 6w really.

I had to wait 10 as they only run the clinic every 2 weeks xx

If you had unprotected sex then yes you could well be pregnant

Everyone is different, some still spot weeks after . I haven't ever done xx

I did 2 tests last week and they were extremely faint positive but I thought it could be left over hormones, I think ill test again this weekend and if the bleeding hasn't stopped then go back to the doctors and demand a scan.

Sorry you are going through this hun. Have you tested negative on a pregnancy test since the mc? Sometimes it takes a good couple of months to get back to non pregnant levels. Could be a little bit of retained placenta causing the problem if you are still testing positive. I tend to have extended bleeding after natural miscarriages and slow to drop hcg after any type of miscarriage, for no reason at all. I only ever go back to normal after I've had my first period

I tested positive 3 weeks after then negative at 4 weeks, at 5 weeks I did aother and there was an extremely faint positive but I thought it could just be the left over hormones still, im just al lover the place atm and my doc is useless, like I said though I may just test again this weekend to make sure and if not then demand a scan to make sure I am 100% recovering or if infact I am pregnant again

I would test again then and if it's blazing positive you may be possibly pregnant again. If it's faint or negative then likely some retained placenta which is just about gone hopefully x

Quick question - has anyone had a parathyroid test done? It was suggested I need one based on my bone xray today. Just called my gp and am booked in Monday before I get the Post Mortem reaults.

Tasha - did you bring a list of questions with you for your debriefs?

I've had preg tests stay positive for up to 6 weeks after a misscarraige.

Best thing to do it get your levels checked or go to the epac if you have one, or ask your doc to arrange an early pregnancy scan.

I know my circumstances Are different but i also wrote down exactly what happened to me that day, and in the order it happened so that I didn't forget anything

I keep crashing on here without reading back and I feel awful. Things are hectic busy here and finding the time to read through this thread and get to know everyone the way I want is difficult.

Thinking of all of you ladies with late losses. I've had 4 early-ish losses (8 weeks measuring 6, 12 weeks measuring 9, chemical/closing in on 5 weeks, and finally my latest which was a d&c at what should have been 12 weeks but not sure what to make of it as hard to see anything on ultrasound except two small misshapen 'sacs' that are potentially not sacs). Waiting on the karyotype to find out if it was a molar pregnancy since my RPL specialist said it kind of looked like a molar on ultrasound but he couldn't be sure.

Anyway, so I can't imagine how much harder it is for you ladies .

New round of testing didn't reveal anything new. EXCEPT, while my husband's karyotype came back as normal, mine came back saying I have an inversion on chromosome 9. We were told it's a normal population variant and likely not causing my miscarriages. But when I researched it, some think it is related to recurrent pregnancy losses. None of my RPL testing has shown anything so I'm inclined to believe it.

Karyotype on pregnancy #2 showed 45X monosomy (so abnormal), and if this last pregnancy was abnormal too, I think I will have myself convinced.

Any of you ladies ever hear of this inversion or know anyone who can provide me with any information on it? Just wish I knew if it is the reason for my losses, what the chances are of ever being successful without IVF with PGD.

Sorry again that I'm just crashing in asking questions without familiarizing myself with you all. I will at some point I promise . Wishing you all the best of luck in this crappy predicament we all find ourselves in.

i am so confused!
i took 2 home pregnancy tests - Both Positive
went to my Dr. and went for my blood work, the HCG hormone was there so they had me go back to see if it doubled in 48 hours. it did not double but it did increase.
So they sent me again for blood work, and again it increased but did not double. i would be 6.5 weeks pregnant and the HCG Hormone should be well over 1000
They sent me fr an emergency ultrasound and the results show that there is nothing in there.

i have not bled, nothing- no cramps

i would be 7 weeks 3 days today and still no bleeding no cramping
i am so confused
anyone have anything similar to my problem??

Confusion - I googled 45x and it seems to not involve chromosome 9? So it might have been a random occurence? The other thing ive heard about with multiple abnormal chromosome miscarriages is relating to egg quality. I dont know if any of tge ladies have suggestions on how to improve that as a matter of precaution maybe? Just an idea x

Redd - did they mention anything about ot being ectopic? Or could you be earlier than you thougt? Ive had an experience with hcg not exactly doubling but it not being a bad sign

This is the recurrent miscarriage thread hun (3 or more losses), you might get a better response in the general loss section for miscarriages and not the recurrent section

All of my miscarriages were missed so the baby died at around 6-7 weeks but i never bled till 10 or 12w so it could be that you have had a missed miscarriage also. However, they could always see something at the 6w scan

What have they said, are you to go back again?
