Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

2kidsplusttc3 I'm so glad you have your kids.

Sweet I hope you have a quick recovery! :hugs:

confuzion unfortunately I don't know anything about that. I'm sure some ladies on here do though.

Sweet, it sounds like they were very thorough and them cleaning up adhesions might make all the difference

Confuzion, thrombophilia can cause issues late in pregnancy, too. And of course clots that can endanger your life so if you have any of the other risk factors I'd push for heparin. Otherwise just make sure you're on the baby aspirin.
Sorry, no idea about the prolactin. Can you have it retested to see if it was just a blip?

Sweet big :hugs:

2kids a new Dr does sound the right way to go x

I looked a little bit into high prolactin levels - only because I thought mine might be high since I produced heaps of milk with DS, and with my miscarriages I had milk come in after my 16 and 14 week losses which the drs told me wouldn't happen.

Anyway, I couldn't find a link between high prolactin level and miscarriages, only high levels and not ovulating

Thanks ladies for weighing in on it for me! Seems I'm just upping my dose of folate for now, not sure what the doc will say about blood thinners. But my coagulation tests have always been normal so don't think he will think it necessary (also don't think any of my losses were due to clotting issues).

Sweetv - :hugs:. Definitely upside to the D&C is being able to just move on right away. Wishing you a swift recovery.

My coagulation tests were all normal,

Me Shehata wanted me on blood thinners as it also has properties that lower your immune system too

Xx

The TEG test and INR etc are all normal for me, too. I still developed a DVT and had hundreds of clots in my lungs  it isn't always very obvious and the science is new. They keep discovering new clotting factors and tests for them.

SweetV - hope you are recovering well, look after yourself x

2kidsplusttc3 - a new dr would really help, sorry they are not listening to you, it must be so difficult

confuzion - sorry, I don't know anything about prolactin

SweetV, wishing you a speedy recovery.

2kids - sounds like a new doc is the way to go. You don't have to put up with someone who refuses to listen to your concerns.

so update. I found a new doctor that will see me on monday :) I am so happy. It took a lot of calling around. but I am excited to maybe get progesterone injections. I explained over the phone my situation to the nurse and she sounded confident this doctor could help me. as I am in my tww I would love to get progesterone started. so I can really make sure everything works out this time.

2kids, maybe it doesn't even have to be injections. Here in the UK they give pessaries/suppositories, which are supposed to be good for slow absorption.

2kids-I take an oral form of progesterone (brand name Prometrium) so there may be that option as well. My only complaints with it are basically side effects-fatigue and dizziness, both of which got worse when I upped my dosage from 100mg twice per day to 200 mg twice per day.

Were you ladies on progesterone diagnosed with low levels or just put on it because?

Mrs R, I was also just put on it, not been tested.

I wasn't tested before being prescribed progesterone, either. There was a trial running at the time and a few ladies from bnb joined. I think it was called the Promise trial. Maybe you can find out how that worked out?

Was tested and prescribed it but my numbers were 13.8 and it seems the internet thinks that's normal.

Yeah cutie, that's why I asked you about it because my level was 13.38ng/ml which is lower than yours and my doctor said that is normal (anything 10 and over) and she said she didn't think prescribing me progesterone was worth it because my body was producing it at a normal level. So who knows?? I think all doctors are different. Why this TTC thing has to be SO CONFUSING drives me NUTS!!
