Refused a midwife to attend home birth?

I did see the AIMS article and on the whole found it is very empowering - when time is on your side.

But what happens when you get told at 37 weeks, when you are basically a "full term" ticking timebomb that you can't have your home birth because there are no midwives available to come out to you? It doesn't give you long to get your letters out to the heads of sheds. Also not good for mums to be under stress at this stage in their pregnancy. I really have a lot to chat to my doula about!
 
I think they wait that long on purpose because your less likely to kick up a fuss. You could allways wright the letters now just incase and its one less thing to worry about

Yes if I do continue to pursue a home birth then I will be writing them in advance. :)
