Removing the tape?

The leftover glue from the tape - any kind of tape/plaster/band aid etc comes of more gently with mineral oil or Baby Oil . Apply the oil enough to soak it, leave it for 30' to 1 min and wipe it with a cloth soaked in the same oil. No pain at all.
:hugs:

I wonder if we are all talking about the same tape?

With both my csecs I was told to soak it off in the shower the next day, the first c sec they used dissolvable stitches and in the second I had staples.

I had disolvable stitches with tape over the top. I was told to take the tape off in the shower 24 hrs or so after surgery. I was terrified though and couldn't do it so a lovely midwife came in the shower and did it for me! It felt strange but not particularly painful.

By the way, the fishing line type stuff sounds like the stitches to me. It should drop off on its own or your midwife/health visitor might just snip it off. My friend had a straggly bit for months! She cut it off herself in the end as she got fed up of catching it.

i had the tape removed by the midwife about day three, then it felt like everything was falling out lol but it did not hurt and i had dissolvable stitches
