So we were planning on renting our bridesmaid dresses but after going round all the shops in Southampton no where seems to hire them out on sell them, does anyone know of any shops in the Hampshire area that you can hire bridesmaid dresses from? I really dont want to buy them as the ones i saw in the shop were around £125 each, i've tried looking on ebay but cant get two the same in the right sizes- HELP!

Try lightinthebox.com - i've not bought off there myself but it looks OK ?
Apologies if i'm not suppose to put the link!

Are you looking for 'proper' bridesmaid dresses? You can get some really nice normal dresses from places like Wallis, Jane Norman or Monsoon and just use them and let them keep them as a gift x

We had the same problem - couldn't find anywhere to hire decent ones.

Could keep an eye out for a dress maker (one's that work from home are normally pretty cheap) We picked up silk at the weekend from Abakhan to make our cravats and it was only £6 a mete.

The new range in BHS should be around Jan/feb - prices start from around £60 which is prob cheaper than hiring & they get to keep them.

I was really lucky with mine - got the dress we wanted in the right colour and size off the rail in the bridal shop for £50 - I'm only having one adult bridesmaid tho (due to my other bridesmaid growing a baby)

Sorry - not much help - but a few alternatives x x

Im using light in the box for mine too some really lovely styles on there xx

Thanks for the advice girls i will take a look about x

Hi

Just thought that I'd let you know that I'm planning on using lightinthebox too - the dresses that I've picked are £47 each and they're stunning!! :D

I found i had this issue aswell as we are getting married on a tight budget but i still want my 4 bridesmaids to look gorgeous without breaking the bank, so i have found some lovely long satin dresses online and 2 of my bridesmaids will wear white and 2 black. They are £27 each and as they are not over the top, can be worn again. My bridesmaids are paying for the dresses themselves as they will wear them again and i will be adding a corsage to each dress to make them pretty :)

We got out dresses from Amazon America (weird I know), they were about £120 for four dresses. We did have to pay a customs charge though which was quite expensive. Still £180 for four bridesmaids dresses is good.

I brought my wedding dress from Milly Bridal and its beautiful, made to measure. They can make any dress you ask them to for a bargain price.
