Our third child is now 2 years and 4 months old, her speech is brilliant. She's been speaking in small sentences, very clearly for quite a while now.
A few days ago as soon as she woke up I realised she was repeating the last sound in the words at the end of her sentences. So for example:
"I want that - t - t - t"
"Let's go for a walk - k - k "
We showed it absolutely no attention but as the day went on she done it more. She's done it each day since. There's often a reasonable pause between finishing the word and actually repeating the sound which she seems to be doing more as a whisper, and doesn't appear to even realise she's doing it.
Looking it up it appears to be called an atypical disfluency as opposed to a stutter, I'm just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this?
We are due to see her paediatrician the end of March so I'll discuss this with her then if she's still doing it.
