sorry for anyone thats already read my thread over in second trimester, just saw this forum and thought it couldnt hurt :flower:
well...
i had my first appointment with a midwife today (uptill now ive just seen my GP)
everything was fine, heard the little wiggly ones heart beat again and i seem healthy :)

im a little upset though because i was told that because ive had two c-sections i HAVE to have another :(
i dont have any medical issues so far that would make this a requirement, the only reason i was given is the general risk of uterine rupture, nothing specifically to do with me, this pregnancy or my history...i thought this was a bit unfair and weak :(

i almost cried

my last two births i had no support, only an abusive partner and really felt robbed of the chance to give natural birth my best shot. this time i have a loving supportive partner and close friends and i REALLY wanted to give a VBAC a go...

my midwife wasnt awful, its the hospitals procedure i guess...after i pleaded my case i think she felt for me and so has booked me in with the most 'likely to let me try' consultant for my next appointment...she advised that the better prepared i am to convince him of my understanding of VBAC, the risks AND the POSITIVES, the better chance i have of being allowed to give it a go...

could anyone help me with this please? ...advice, personal stories or even just plain old facts about the risks and also the positives to having a VBAC...

obviously if during my pregnancy or at the first sign of something going wrong with a vaginal birth i would accept a csection as the safe option but i really dont want to settle for an elective unless theres a specific risk or issue making it not possible :(

any help would be really appreciated, im going to start my defence of VBAC right away and have a solid argument for it when i go for that darn appointment...lol...

Get yourself over to the natural & home birthing section asap! There are lots of very well informed ladies there who've been there and there's a thread on VBAC support.

I'm sorry you've had a bad time of it but there is no such thing as being 'allowed' or not - if you want it, then you can have it. Sadly not many health professionals will say this.

Good luck!

As clarsair said yes get onto the natural & homebirthing section! I've had 2 c-sections also, although I'm not pregnant atm I'm doing some research now to help me fight for another try for a vbac this time vba2c! This link will take you to the right thread https://www.babyandbump.com/home-natural-birthing/658839-vbac-info-support.html Chuck, the lovely lady who started it, gave me some great advice the other day and there is loads of info & vbac stories. I really hope you get your vba2c or at least be given the chance to try! Good luck! xx

I was going to say head over to my thread LOL...please head over even if it's only to read links.

But post there...the more people post the more it'll turn up on search engines for other ladies!

OK hun to start if you want to VBA2C you can and you deserve to be supported.

The risk of UR in a VBA2C over a VBA1C is still tiny.

If your pregnancy is uncomplicated then there is no reason why VBAC is an option no matter how many CS you've had -I just posted a wonderful VBA4C story in the support thread.

I dont know where you are so law wise all I can say is that IF you are in the UK they can shove their 'not allowed' up their arses. There is NO SUCH THING in this county. Here in the UK you can say no to anything you want.

In the US I know it is more difficult - it depends what your insurance will cover, it may mean finding a MW who will support you.
