Hi girls....first i just want to say im sorry for everyones loss :( what a terrible thing to happen to us all, i hope we all get our sticky beans soon xxxx

well i just had my 3rd mc on the 15th  i really thought this baby was going to stay this time :nope: after my 2nd mc my dr did all of the regular blood tests to rule out things being wrong....thyroid, clotting etc. well everything came back normal, nothing wrong!! I am happy about that, but sad because i still dont have a reason why i cannot stay pregnant.
Today my dr called me and told me she wants me to see a reproductive endocrinologist...fertility dr. I am so scared and i dont know what to expect. Has anyone seen one of these doctors before? do you think its best to halt ttc until i see the dr? My appt is for dec 6th, so about 19 days. Thanks and loads of :dust: :dust:

I am so sorry for all of your losses =( I really hope you get your sticky little bean soon!

I have seen many RE's. I think it can be a good thing because they are specialist in the area and can do additional testing for both you and your dh to see what might be going on. It IS stressful, for me it was anyways. It took me a long time to find one I liked. Make sure to keep looking if you dont mesh well with the first one you see.

If it comes down to medicated cycles or what have you, you will want to be seeing a doctor that you trust 100% and feel comfortable with. infertility is a rough topic and hard thing to deal with as is, once you add all the testing in and medications it can be that much more stressful if you don't have a good RE!

I hope I have helped and haven't scared you! As for your last question - I wouldn't halt TTC until you see them... who knows what can happen in the meantime ;)

thank you very much for the reply!! lol and no you didnt scare me, just gave me some good information!! This visit is kinda like a freebie...they dont take my insurance, but my dr gave me a free consultation card, so I will atleast be able to get my feet wet xxxx

That is great! It might be overwhelming with info, but take lots of notes and ask lots of questions... soak it all up afterwards so you can figure out your "plan of attack" =) Have you made the appt yet? If you have any questions let me know, its been a while since I have been to one but I can try to help as best as I can! Best wishes to you!

Yea my appt is dec 6th. My dr is going to send over all my history and my blood results, so I'm hoping with that they can look at it and say....Ahhh haaa I see what the problem is :haha: probably won't be that simple!! Lol! And you have helped me out tons!! Thank you! Xxxx

I hope that is exactly what they say also and its a simple fix! And I hope time flies by and the 6th is here before you know it ;) Keep me posted!

Ask them to double-check thyroid - my ob/gyn felt my level was slightly underactive and thought it was not necessary for medication; my GP disagreed and put me on medication and then doubled it, I had a perfect 28 cycle and became pregnant after a mc/two possible chemicals (am 25wks+1 at the moment); am now under the care of the consultant endocrinologist at my maternity hospital who told me that it may have been that little discrepancy that caused me to have problems....

best wishes

I love my RE doc. I was so glad I got sent to him. At first it made me nervous, but they are so great. They give you so much hope, and know so much more and how certain (and simple) things can help. I just found out I am pregnant and they are putting me on all kinds of stuff to make sure the baby stays.

My situation is a bit different. I just have really bad luck. I got referred to my RE after I saw a genetic counselor because the genetic department couldnt find anything wrong. I didnt have issues getting pregnant it is staying pregnant. They will be putting my on progesterone so the baby stays "20% of healthy pregnancies are lost due to progesterone defects" said my RE. They have all kinds of things they check for that are so simple.
