This past week, I've noticed that when I start to get sleepy at the end of the day, my calves start to feel uncomfortable & sort of sore, to the point where I feel like I can't keep them still. I have no idea if that makes sense, but does anyone else get this & if so, what do you do to help it?

all the time! for a month or so . only thing that helps me is to flex them, move around or have OH rub them until i fall asleep

I had this last week and I put it down to eating to much sugary stuff and if I touched Coke. I have been good this week and touch wood I have not had it yet. But I know it sounds weird I used to stand up and curl my toes up and squeeze them really tight and for some reason it worked lol xxx

I had this, used to drive me nuts.

Warm bath and lavender helped.

Relaxing.

V xx

Have it right this second and every night. Restless leg syndrome is really common but so so SO annoying!! Sorry no advice but it's normal xx

My best friend had this the last couple months of her pregnancy, and she said it was the worst feeling. She would have her hubby rub her calves before bed and use some oils that would soak in an help relieve some of the pain. I don't think she found any miracle cure though... SORRY!!!!! I know her doctor mentioned NO CAFFEINE as this can make it worse... hope you find something to help hun!

Best of luck :hugs:

Maybe this site would help???

Yep, I get it too. Every night without fail. I can't remember the last time I had a nights sleep. And it's definately preggo related cus' I had it with DD too.

It's incredibly frustrating and so far I have yet to find anything to soothe it :(

Getting up and walking around for a few minutes helps me, even in the middle of the night.

Icey Hot makes it go away! My doctor says its safe to use, and I swear, it REALLY works! Relieves the jumpy feeling almost immediately and gives you a good chance to fall asleep. :)

hi I get this problem all the time the only thing that helps me is massaging my legs with vicks vapour rub try it when you feel the restlessness come on hope it helps because it's a life saver for me xx

Yes, I get this too and it drives me crazy! It happens in the evening when I want to sit on the couch and relax.
It seems to help somewhat if I get up and start doing a bunch of squats and other leg exercises while hanging onto the back of the couch, then stretch all the leg muscles well.

I have this too and its REALLY ANNOYING. Im going to try the icy hot tonight and see what happens.

I get this every evening too, it drives me crazy! I have to get up and walk around a bit to ease it off.

I was told that restless leg sindrome can be helped by b12

i have had what is called restless leg syndrom since i was in my early teens... ( i'm almost 33 now) and a b vitamin complex especially b12 will help! ( i even have had to have b12 injections) and boy oh boy does it... so when i got preggo and went off my complex my restless leg came back... my dr. told me i can continue with my complex and my prenantals ( which have now been replaced by flintones vitamins) and it helps A LOT!!!!! ask your doc before you try it but is awesome to not have thay weird feeling in my arms and legs.

good luck!!!

its called restless legs syndrome and they still dont know what causes it but its very common in pregnant ladies. i got it before i was pregnant and found stretching my legs out in front and then up keeping it straight but not pulling your muscles too tight worked well, also cooling them down i.e window open etc i did that last nite and fell sleep straight away. hope that helps but its nothing to worry about

yes it did help
the injections were forced on me becuase i hate needles so the dr reccomended the bcomplex the my ob says the complex i take is great because it has all the b's and folic and some other stuff too
i can tell a difference teh day i forget to take it... my restless leg is also in my arms too so its great!!! i also find that sometimes wrapping my knee in a brace or ace bandage for a little bit will help too

I wedge my calves underneath my OHs legs. The pressure and weight stops it for a bit until I fall asleep :D
