Hi all!

A thought occurred to me just now while looking online for a new car seat for this baby. My first was a girl, and of course I bought everything in pink. Looking back I really wish I would have got gender neutral colors so I could reuse everything, because we're having a boy this time! (take note FTMs LOL)

New car seats are expensive and I'm not too comfortable with used because you never know if it was in an accident or something. Rather than buy a new car seat, is there somewhere I can buy just new "covers" like new cushion/fabric parts than a whole new seat? Can you even take off the old ones? Anyone know where I can look? I googled it but only saw stuff on Etsy and it's like $70 for them which isn't much less than the carseat itself! I just want something plain, I'm not picky at all, just not pink obviously lol. Thanks in advance!

Look up Carseat Canopy and you should get some ideas of what you can get. They are expensive ($70 for a whole new carseat cover, carseat canopy, etc.) but they have some super cute patterns and you can usually find a code to use to knock some $$ off the price.

Just checked out their website and they are offering a 40% off code right now...

Ohh nice! Thanks I will check that out!

Don't buy any of those after market seat covers. They haven't been crash tested with the seat - you have no idea how they'll compress in a crash. Your best bet is to call the 1-800 number in the manual and see how much the manufacturer wants for a cover that goes with your seat.

Have you checked the website for the car seat you have? I know the one I have sells all the parts to the carseat, including covers. Personally, I'd never use anything other than what's made specifically by the carseat manufacturer on the seat. (agree with previous poster about crash testing)

If you choose to get the Carseat canopy use the code "FABULESS1" it takes $50 off.

Thanks ladies! Great advice. I found a place on the Graco website for customer inquiries about parts, I plan on contacting them today!

I just wanted to let you guys know I contacted Graco directly and was able to order all new covers for super cheap. The only color option they had for my model carseat was black and grey colors, but that works!! It was $12 for the canopy, $30 for the main car seat pad, and $10 for the head support. That totaled only $52 plus shipping which is much less than some of those custom ones that are out there, plus they are specifically for the model so there are no issues with safety or anything. Just wanted to share. :)
