Revealing the name...How and when?

We knew our names ahead of time and have mentioned them over the years. We had a couple people push back because they had big issues with someone with the same name. But we just said "that's his name! Sorry:)" I loved knowing and announcing the name beforehand. I didn't want to have to be careful around others and not say it- I wanted to call him his name and others to as well. For me, it made him seem more a part of the family and what was happening. We are thinking of going team yellow next time but would still tell our name choices to help connect.

We're announcing at birth, that way we get no unwanted input :)

Don't think I'll tell anyone other than my best friend who is too lovely to say anything anyway. I will tell everyone else that we're considering weird names and so don't want criticism, which is true. Last time I had fight after fight with my dad because he insisted on making fun of the name Willow which we'd picked for a girl.

I would wait till after the birth. It's not fun getting rude comments, and more likely than not, people seem to give them. We waited with DD and only received pleasant comments after she was born. This time, I told my mom we were considering a particular girl name. She said she liked it and swore not to tell anyone, but when I saw her in person, she apparently told my brother and the two of them sat there criticizing the choice to me. :( From now on I am not telling ANYONE!

With our two we have we were team yellow so had both boys and girls names picked out both times and just told people when/if they asked! This time we are finding out what we are having but again once we have deffo decided I will tell people when they ask!
