What are people's thoughts on River as a boys name?
I think it might be quite different from my other children's names but I've fallen in love with it!

It’s a no for me, I just don’t personally like it. There is a boy called River in DS1’s class and every time I hear it I cringe! But, honestly, it doesn’t matter what you call your kid, there’ll always be someone who doesn’t like it. So if you like it, go for gold.

I'm on the fence with it. It makes me think of River Phoenix when I hear it. But if you love it, use it. You will only regret it if you don't.

I like it! I tend to like traditional names, but I think River is cool. It’s not too crazy, and I can see a little boy’s room all decked out with a nature theme.

My husband really wants River for this one but I just automatically think of River Phoenix! But if you like it go for it, like op said there will always be people that don't like your name choice xx

My OH wanted river for our baby girl. I think it's a beautiful name, but his surname is Fisher, so definately a no go

I'm not sure on it, I can picture a baby River and a child River but cannot imagine an adult named River tbh. I always use this theory when naming mines! If I struggle to picture them as an adult with that name then for me it just won't work. But if you love it, go for it, doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks!

I don't like it. My friend is a child minder and one of her little girls is called River. Its not for me.

Its nothing to do with anybody else. If you like it go for it xx

I like it! But I'm also a fan of Lake so of course I'd like River. Lake is top of my list. My two girls have common names. I don't know why but it has definitely stuck. Hubs thinks so too. I still want to have a back up though..just in case 😁
