A little late but I have finally got a chance to write my birth story so here it is :)

Monday 9th Aug - The midwife came for a home visit to do a stretch and sweep at 40 + 3 it didn't hurt but it was uncomfortable and the midwife told me I was 2cm dilated and nearly effaced so I was please but I wasn't expecting anything to happen as with my other little boy I had a sweep I had "bulging membranes" and was told that I wouldn't go much longer but I was still induced so I thought this one would be the same.
About 2 hours after the sweep I started getting crampy but I still didn't pay much attention as I have heard a lot of women feel crampy after a sweep and nothing happening. At about 10pm I started getting timable contractions from 5 -7 mins and getting quite intense. These contractions went on all night and started coming every 5 mins and were painful so I couldn't sleep. I ended up having three hot baths to relieve the pain and last a bit longer at home as everyone here was asleep and I didn't want to get my boys out of bed to take to the grandparents if I was going to be sent home again.
Tuesday 10th Aug - I got through the night but in the morning I was tired and emotional and feeling like I wasn't coping so I phoned the Delivery suite and OMG they were sooooooo condescending. Firstly they said to me that they could hear from my voice I was nowhere near yet and don't bother coming in as I would be sent home again :(. When I said to the lady on the phone that I wasn't coping her answer was "well you better get used to it, childbirth is painful and first labours take a long time" :growlmad: I didn't have the energy to argue with her and tell her it was my 4th baby!
I got off the phone and had a crying fit as I thought I was being a total wimp and couldn't cope with early labour so I tried to occupy myself for a couple more hours and then I rang the ward again and they said the same but this time I put my foot down and said I didn't care if I was sent home I just wanted to be examined so off I went.
When I arrived at the hospital I was again treated a little bit like I shouldn't be here yet and would be going home soon but as soon as the midwife examined me she said I was 5cm dilated and was shocked that I was having contractions in the hundreds, straight away she said "you wont be going home, I will call the delivery suite, you need to go now". OMG, I can't tell you how relieved I felt that this was the real thing, and when she said "gosh your doing well with those contractions with no pain relief"! I felt vindicated and glad that someone was taking me seriously after feeling like everyone was treating me like a wimp! :smug:

Off I go to delivery and I was set up with the gas and air which I really liked lol and I was feeling pretty relaxed. At about 9.45pm I started feeling pressure and my body started to involuntary push. The midwife came back in and said it was time to push as bubs heart was starting to slightly dip with each contraction indicating pressure and that he was well into the birth canal. I was really scared about pushing but I couldn't help doing it, my body took over and after 16 minutes of pushing out he came all 9lbs and 14oz of him.
The midwife put him straight on my chest for skin to skin contact and I couldn't stop touching him I was so amazed at how chunky he was and big his hands and feet are. I only got a small tear which is pretty much healed already.

I have spent the last two weeks buzzing :happydance: I love my new little man soooooo much :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: and his big brothers adore him.

Thanks for reading and good luck to all the ladies still waiting. xx
