Hiya Ladies, i have been reading posts on here for a while now and thought i would pop in and say hello :flower:

My name is Kerry, im 27 and from London and me and OH have been ttc for 2 years now, with not so much as a smidgen of a BPF

All my blood tests have come as ok, i have also had a scan on my ovaries and that all came back clear.

I had another appointment with the gynae last week and he has put me forward for a lap and dye, i was told the waiting list for it was 3 months but a few days after my appointment i had an appointment letter for a pre assessment at the hospital for it. How long after pre assessments is surgery normally done? if i am going to be waiting 3 months for it, isn't it abit to early for a pre assessment? i have never had surgery before so abit clueless to these things lol

The letter also says the clinic should be completed within 2-3 hours? what tests do they do that take so long? lol

Also what is recovery times after having a lap and dye?

Sorry for all the questions lol

Kerry xx

i'm not sure the answers, but wanted to comment because my DH and I have been ntnp/ttc for two years now and I am thinking about having the HSG does as well. I did get pregnant before in October but it ended at 5weeks.. I also believe I had 2 chemical pregnancies as well, but never made it past AF date and never confirmed with blood work

I just wanted to say good luck and be sure to update!

hiya :flower:

I had my letter come for my pre op assessment for lap and dye literally days after my last FS appointment and i'm afraid they do last for 3 months... however i had mine 3 weeks ago and i had a phone call friday and mine is a week tomorrow (12th)! I was warned it could only be a weeks notice. So you might not wait the full 3 months but be prepared to just in case x

Hi :flower:

Just wanted to comment to say that recovery from a lap is pretty easy, although it depends on what they do. If there's a lot of endo removed, for example, it may be a bit longer. If nothing is done, you should be near or at 100% in a week or less. Most women can start weaning themselves off the meds in just a few days. Depending on how active your job is you can be back at work in 3-7-ish days. But you won't want to move around a lot for a little while. Good excuse to watch some cheesy movies.

Good luck!

I've got to hope it's not too bad - i have mine done on the Monday and i'm travelling to Scotland on Friday morning (run our own business)! Will have to bribe someone to do the heavy lifting when we get there with DH but i can sit on my bum and do my job - hopefully!!! xx

Thanks for all your replies. I had the pre assesement and was told I will be waiting about 12 weeks for the lap and dye. The nurse also advised me to take 2 weeks off work because of where I work, heavy lifting etc so will just have to see how I go I suppose :) x
