Rowan - boy or girl name?

Girly for me, I think only because I know a little girl with that name. Tbh before I knew the girl I had never even heard of the name. :flower:

My sister is called Rohan and pronounced the same as rowan, so its not said ro-HAN. i think its a unisex name and you can pronounce it however you like x

i think it's more of a boy's name but i love it as a girls name

When I hear Rowan...I think of Rowan Atkinson, the actor who played Mr. Bean, lol....so I think of boy. :)

Sorry I can't pick either because a very good friend of mine is called Rowan and she suits the name so much. I know of one male Rowan and it works for him too. I think it's one of those true unisex names.

BOY! It is my Fave boy name. DH vetoed it though. I mentioned the name to a couple of my hubby's friends wives and they were all so Rude about the name screaming "Oh you couldn't name a boy that- Its a GIRLS name". I only mentioned it because I know we won't be calling our son (if we have a boy) that name since DH doesnt like it. That is why we are keeping our real names a Secret.. So Rude...

It strikes me as a male name, but the only time I have encountered it was on a girl

I've voted for boy, as i'd always thought of it as a boys name. However, i can see that it would work well for a girl too, so i guess you needed a unisex option on the poll :flower:

Also, my son's name is Rohan, after OH's best friend, and for both of them its pronounced Row-han, so you can hear the "h". Although if i say his name is Rohan, and people look confused i'll often re-pronounce it as Rowan, to save them stretching their brains too much :haha:
