Hi everyone! This is my first post and I look forward to this journey with all of you!

I am 29, my husband (also 29) and I have been TTC since May of 2016 without success. Went to see my gyno in June of this year, I had an HSG done and was diagnosed with 1 blocked fallopian tube (hydrosalpinx). We visited a fertility specialist, and she recommended i go forward with the surgery to have it removed (salpingectomy) and then go forward with IVF right after that. During this time my husband had a sperm analysis done, and when the gyno reviewed the results, they told us the viability and motility were below average and not great, but the fertility specialist did not seem concerned. But, she also wasn't the most helpful and just pushed IVF without discussing anything else.

My surgery is scheduled for next week. We will most likely not go forward with IVF if we do not reach our deductible with the salpinectomy. So my question is, what next? My gyno suggests we try on our own for 6 months before trying other routes. But IVF is the only option that was discussed with us.

I just wanted to see if any one else has had a similar experience and what success or non-successes have happened afterwards? Thanks in advance for your input!
