Same name as someone in town

I had an aunt Who spelled it Illah.

Thats the only alternate spelling ive seen that sounds right

Yea i can see now that layla and isla are quite similar maybe thats y i liked it so much both ending in "la" could get a bit confusing. Hmmmm i think it that name myt have to go in the bin. Oh well still got heaps of time to think of another name.
Thanks for everyones input. I think if it wasnt for the similarity in my dd name and this one i still would have picked it even with the other person in town

Start another post if you want, it would be interesting to continue the name search with you and try to find another name that still "fits" for you in what you like.

Yup i think ill do that once we find out what this bub is, if its a boy we have a name sorted if its a girl thats wea the problem is

Just incase anyone cares, we are haveing a boy so dont need to worry bout the isla thing now, yay but we had decided on using it as a middle name if bubs was a girl. It would have been Alexis Isla thanks everyone for your input bout this

I have an aunt by marriage and we share the same name, we are both Michelle MacWhirter. No, it would not bother me that some random person in town had the same name . My kids have a VERY common last name and first names too, there are probably 10 Thomas and Sophie Andersons in our town.
