Scan at 4w5d...will I see anything?

Hi all,

This is my first time posting in this forum. So excited, but I'm really, really scared. I'm sure you call ALL relate!!

I'm high risk because I have Factor V (blood clotting disorder) and an auto-immune disease (CREST). With my last pregnancy, my doctor just ordered an early scan at 8 weeks. This time he wants to see me next week and do an u/s. I'll only be 4w5d. Will I see anything?

I wasn't anticipating having to freak out about and u/s for at least another couple of weeks. I'm seriously freaking out already. How on earth do you ladies get by each day???

I'm not sure how much you'd see at just less than 5 weeks - poss a sac - maybe a fetal pole? At least they are looking after you.

Try not to worry too much - maybe it's good that you don't have time to dwell...

Its unlikely that you will see much more than a gestational sac and yolk... but hey the more i read peoples scan stories the more surprised i get!

I have an ultrasound on Wednesday when I'll be 4+6 so I will let you know what we see (if anything). We saw a heartbeat at 5+3 last time so who knows. I am terrified too after 3 losses so can't offer much advice on staying calm!

With my pregnancy this time i had a scan at 5+3 and all tht was seen was the yolk sac,,,at a scan at 6+3 i saw fetal pole and a pulsing heartbeat.
