**Scan Pics Added**Had a u/s and only 80% sure of sex?!?!!?

I had a u/s today. She is 80% sure that it is a girl. But she couldn't get a good shot because my fluids low and I had an empty bladder. I was advised to drink a ton of water and come back on Monday so she could rescan. BUt she said if it was a boy she should be able to see something. What do you ladies think about this? I am trying not to get hope up as I have three boys and would love a little girl. Would love to hear your input! Thanks ladies!!

I would definatly try not to think its a girl until the rescan but sounds promising did they give you any potty shot pics? I was told I was having a girl and given pics of her potty area but since I was told a day before 15 weeks Im still waiting for another scan in 2 weeks to confirm before getting to excited

i was told a girl a few days before i turned 15 weeks and it was obvious there was no nub or anything. Of course my annalise liked to show her goods lol. I say 80% is a good chance little doubt!

That is just silly. I have NEVER been told to have a full bladder for mine and I found out on Tuesday it was a boy and we got a perfect shot of his little boy parts. I would maybe request another scan and with someone else if you can.

I think 80% is a good chance if they cannot make out any obvious little man bits then its most likely a girl, but yeah drink tons of water oh and have a bit of coke or lemonade as its fizzy and supposedly gets the baby wriggling so hopefully she will open up and show you she is a girl xoxoxo

Did she give you a potty shot? If she did, you can upload it for us to take a look. Basically, with girls, you're looking for the "hamburger" it's three little white lines (you can imagine what those are)

I'm feeling rather confused and a bit weepy to be honest . Not sure what to think. It's going to be a long weekend. I am just confused why she would say 80% if she didn't have reason. Ya know? :/

Boys are a lot earyer to see than girls but maybe baby's bits are still a bit sticky out so we can't be 100% on what it was. Good luck i hope you do get your girl.

They are never allowed to say 100% anyway hun, even at 20 weeks, they wouldn't commit themselves but the potty shot was obvious. I was told girl at 16+5 too, and she wouldn't say 100%. They aren't allowed to. 80% is good!

I drank a bottle of fresh orange beforehand, that perked her up loads lol.

At my first scan we got a really rubbish potty shot and she said 75% girl. At my second scan the women said he hadn't seen anything between the legs but was a total cow and wouldn't look again. I have my 4d scan to double check in a couple of weeks... if there suddenly boy parts in there I will be returning LOTS of pink!

i was told 80% girl too, and that was at my 20wk scan. she said they can't be more certain than that anyways (probs to do with being sued if it turns out wrong....) but 80% is pretty sure....my girl wouldn't sit right for a decent shot either, but the sonographer said earlier when looking she'd thought girl...

they mainly say it to cover themselves hunny, she told us she thought it was a girl but wrote on my maternity notes "sexing apptemted at paitents request not 100% acuturate" or something like that, it wasnt good enough for me but it was good enough for DH

Sometimes it's better to go in with a full bladder as you can empty it...where as if you go in with an empty bladder you can't fill it! So don't look in to that! Also we were told girl twice - but unsure at both times cause she was having none of showing her bits! The first 1 was a gender scan and by god she jiggled her around lol. My 1st 20week scan we couldn't even get a look and then 4 days later (20+4) we were told "well she's only flashed but I'd say girl" - we recently had a 32 week growth scan and could see clear as day that she was a girl! I don't always think it's down to tech it depends on baby's position and all sorts. 80% are pretty good odds but take it with a pinch of salt and wait til Monday. It's good you get one 3 days later...most people wouldn't get another one and espesh in the UK we only get our 20 weeks scan as a chance to find out gender and if they can't see - tough, unless you pay £80-£100 ($140-$180) for a private scan you have to wait til birth!

Well the good thing is she will keep scanning until she is 100% sure. I still am not getting my hopes up. I just can't imagine her saying she is 80% sure it is a girl to a mom of three litle boys if she wasn't pretty sure! Lol my boys were even there with me so she knows the story . Thanks for your input ladies.

During the duration of my entire 20 week scan the sonographer thought baby was a girl (this is my 4th and I already have 3 boys too) even though I said that I'd had a private gender scan at 16 weeks that clearly showed boy. However, because of that she looked again at the end of the scan to be sure and baby finally showed off his stuff. Could definitely be a girl but not seeing anything isn't a good reason to make that call. Good Luck Monday and hope you get a more definite answer!!!
