Crikey - that's going to be me as well! I've got an appointment with a specialist next week. The MW told me it was booked in because of my weight - perhaps she'll tell me then about how I can only give birth on the ground floor in case the joists can't support me and I come crashing through the ceiling on to the poor patients below!

Good job we don't all live near each other... Couldn't take the risk we may all go into labour at the same time and the structure of the building may be in real danger!!! xxxx

Luckily for the NHS I'm intending to give birth at home (if my enormous weight will allow it, of course!) so the hospital should be safe. Thank goodness our house is all on one level so at least no fear of damaging it structurally; plus we have a superking size bed which I should just about be able to get my fat arse in to.

 :loo: OMG I am going to wet myself. Lucky I am not in your area too imagine. I also read they won't let us biggies use the pool either. I think through fear of us either flooding the place when we get in or they may not be able to get us out if we have issues. I was going to offer to have the local firemen on standby to get me out if that was the only thing stopping me :happydance:

the cheek of them!!!

Isn't it nice how little we are told at the time and then how much we find out when we read our own notes.

I was told I would be having a routine trip to the hospital at 28 weeks for my blood etc. it is there in my notes and I was told to expect a letter giving me the time. I got a letter alright, inviting me to spend my 28 week appointment with some consultant! I called and asked why I was now under consultant care and not midwife care and they could not tell me.

And they could not understand or empathise, on any level, why I may be a little concerned that my care plan has changed and they have moved me into the care of a specialist! Did it not occur to them I may worry, I may fear something is wrong???

Everything is such an inconvenience and a pain for them at my hospital. They practically sigh and roll their eyes when you ask a question- it's my first pregnancy, I am concerned, I worry over everything ok!!!

And the only suggestion they could give me was perhaps it was my BMI - aargh!!! So now I am a FAT INCONVENIENCE! thanks NHS!!
