I have this strong fear of failing at breastfeeding again, I was not successful with my daughter because of lack of help in the hospital, so I pumped. I'm taking breastfeeding classes mid this week, but still fear I'll fail. I don't want to hear you can formula feed, because in my heart of hearts I do not want to. I want to give the best start to my daughter. I don't want to be told 'at least you tried' I want to succeed at breastfeeding. I don't want to feel like a failure again.

I just wanted to let that out...[rant over]

 Your determination will pay off sweetheart, you seem very sure of what you want and I'm sure you'll do everything in your power to succeed x

You hang in there mama :hugs:... And stay in touch with the lactation consultants from your BF class. Call them about ANYTHING including minor rants :) lol

And we're all here for you here too!

You can do it! It is tough but YOU CAN DO IT!
:cloud9:

If you are able to, have your baby delivered straight onto your stomach. Then let them 'crawl' towards your breast and feed, this has been proven to help establish successful breast feeding. If you can't get the immediate skin to skin, have it as soon as you can. Join a breast feeding or attachment parenting type group so you have all the support you need. You will succeed - positive mental attitude all the way, it gets you through the hard times.

There is so much support available if you do need it...people you can call about anything - and it sounds like you're well prepared. I agree with Vamp that your determination will pay off :hugs: x

Good luck hun! I hope it works for you this time as you really sound determined! Glad you have found some classes and local support to help you through this.

I do have to say though (am not trying to discourage you), you are NOT a failure, no matter what!

:hugs:

You can do it! Your determination is the main thing. If you are determined enough you can find away round most problems.

I think getting help before hand is a great step, this way you will be more prepared, and ready for the challenges of BFing. Keep those contacts for after the birth as well!

You can do it love!!
