I'm about over 6 weeks pregnant, I got 2 positive pregnancy tests on Wednesday. I'm 17, 18 in April are there any only a few weeks pregnant teens round here too? I feel really scared but I already love it even though my boyfriend left me straight away when he found out. Apparently he doesn't he love me now when he always said he'd stick by me but I suppose it's better off this way if he doesn't want to help :). We where together almost 3 years, so maybe he needs time to think but I doubt this.

I went to the Doctors and asked for a wee test to make sure then they'll send me to antenatal except he said something about 'Most pregnancies end in miscarriage' this scared me a little because I've been getting period like pains, but when I told him he didn't mention anything. I really hope this turns out ok. Has anybody else had period like pains?

I'm currently doing full time college Level 3 Childcare, and doing my Level 3 Degree next year but I think I'll manage with the baby too.

Well nice to meet you all.

Heya hun,
Congratulations :)
I'm 17, a full time student doing a-levels and just over 14 weeks pregnant.
I really admire you for deciding to do it without your ex. He's obviosly not mature enough to deal with it anyway! If he is then he'll be back I'm sure.
I have no idea what the doctor is talking about 'most pregnancies end in miscarriage' as they evidently don't. Just look at how many people are pregnant on here! When I was first pregnant but didn't realise it I had period-like pains which was actually what prompted me to take a test as my peroid hadn't come so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you start bleeding and then you'd probably want to see a doctor. If you're really concerned I'm sure you can see a different doctor to the one you saw who will be able to reassure you and answer any questions.
Hope it all works out for you babe!
Feel free to message me if u want to chat.

I wouldn't listen to your doctor honey, now I'm not a teen but there is plenty of women who would tell you the same thing

I was a teen mum 16 i was i had period pains hun xxxx dont worry you keep your chin up xxxx hugs all the best sweetheart

Hey, I'm not a teen mum to be but I just wanted to say that period type pains are quite normal in early pregnancy. I had them for ages and now they've changed to the feeling that I keep pulling muscles.

You only have to worry if you have bleeding with the cramps and even then it may not be a miscarriage.

As for most pregnancies ending in miscarriage - it's not true. A very large number do (I think up to about 40%) before 12 weeks but many of these are before you've even missed your period so you'd never know you were even pregnant.

Guys mature much more slowly than women it would seem and unfortunatly it's so easy for many of them to walk away, especially when they're young.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

ive never heard that one about most pregnancies ending in miscarraige :s dont worry u'll b fine x

50% of UNKNOWN pregnancies end in miscarriage within the first 2 weeks. Everyone gets cramps when they're pregnant :)

dnt worry hun, when i told my doctor i wanted to keep the baby, he said to me tht most pregnancies end in miscarriage too, and look how far along i am now so so dnt worry u will be fine! xx

They say alot of pregnancies end in miscarriage to not "get your hopes up" so to speak. You should see your midwife around 10-12 weeks though :)

After my next appointment on Thursday at 4.30 he said if I still want to keep I'll be transfered to the antenatal unit to see if everything is ok. But thank you very much everyone, I feel alot better :).

Wishing you all the best in your pregnancy! :hugs:

Hey, I'm 15 + 24 weeks along, no need to be scared you sound like you will be fine with this pregnancy and caring for a baby. Your doctor was exaggerating, roughly 10 percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage. So for every 10 miscarriages there are 90 beautiful little babies that are welcomed into this world. + Even out of those 10, most are caused by a freak accident that happened. :hugs: If you need to talk to anybody I'm always here.

jesus! no wonder your crapping yourself!

thts really worrying me to with a history of miscarrages in the family...

im sure you'll be fine!

x
