Hello ladies!!

I just started my second round of Clomid. This time 100mg. My last progesterone test was low at 8.1. Prior to starting clomid was 18...weird?? Anyhow I am sched for HSG next week. I asked my doctor if I could have this done since I figured he would have dont that prior to me starting Clomid. I just hope my tubes are clear that way I could be more optimistic on taking Clomid. I am so nervous for this test. Can someone please tell me about their experience??

Thanks and I'm showering us all with baby dust!!!

 hi there!
I have heard some women didn't feel a thing and the test was really easy for them. Others feel af like cramps. And a small amount, me included, had so much pain I puked. It's different for every woman. But DEF take an 800 mg motrin 30 mins before. And try to relax. The info you get from an hsg is priceless.

Good luck! Hope they are free and clear!

I wish I had been given the advice to take Ibuprofen prior to the test. It was very painful and uncomfortable for me. I was very near tears and I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but like wish2bmama said the experience is different for everyone. I did have mild cramping afterward, but that wasn't too bad. Good luck, hope everything is clear for you.

hi i had this procedure done in sept & it was so quick ( 5 mins!) & really wasnt painful at all! i took 2 paracetamol b4 i left home & made sure i wore knickers rather than a thong as u need to put a pantyliner in after as u leak a bit of the dye. Please do not worry, all i felt was a slight cramp for 5 secs as the catheter went in.....& just to let u know im awful with pain im such a wimp & was terrified ...i really wish i hadnt worried so much!! oh...& remember they tell u the results there & then so no waiting :) x

Hey huni, i had this done early october, i never took any pain killers before hand, but the hsg only took around 5mins and (it was a weird sort of pain) a pain you can put up with but a pain i cant really describe..

Hun your be fine, i was so scared and nervous as some of the ladies on here were saying how awful it was and things and my mind was playing overtime.

Please dont worry, it will be worth it in the end.. My results were given there, the lady said both tubes were clear and running the dye.. My dye seemed to come out straight away when i walked back to my car, i never seen any further dye..

I am starting my clomid tomoz, my gyno wouldnt give me clomid without the hsg..Good luck
xx

Hi, I had this done a couple of months ago, and didn't take any painkillers beforehand. I honestly didn't get any pain at all, just a very very light cramping feeling as the dye went it, but I kind of liked feeling it if you know what I mean as it gave me an idea of where my uterus/ fallopian tubes are in relation to the outside of my body. The test itself is great in that you can see on the screen what is happening inside and everything is so tiny! Afterwards I got a bit of cramping on and off, maybe for a couple of hours, but nothing unbearable. I just took advantage of the situation by sitting on the sofa watching tv and getting DH to make me hot drinks!! Good luck, and don't worry.xx

Thank you ladies!! you were all so helpful!! I never ever thought that I would have to go through all these measures to have a baby. But I know this test will tell me what direction to go in. I'm so thankful for this website because I have learned alot.

Showers of baby dust to u all!!!!
