Sciatica or SPD or something else?

Hi all,

Well yesterday I was getting pain in my hips/bum bones and overnight this seems to have all ended up just below my tailbone/coccyx. it really sharp shooting pains

I came into work today and couldn't sit down because of the pain!! I have taken some paracetamol and used a cushion which has taken the edge off but its still really painful.
I have an antenatal appointment tomorrow and will mention it to the docs but I was wondering whether this could be SPD? or is it more like Sciatica?

or something else entirely?

any thoughts greatfully appreciated

Hmmm not sure, I thought sciatica went from the bottom of your back, down through your bum and down your leg...I'm not sure it affects the hip area. Might do though! SPD affects the pelvic/hip area I thought. Perhaps it isn't either, I really dont know!

I have SPD which makes my hips hurt like hell. I slso have the pain your describing in my tail bone, and when i went to the physio, they told me it was because 2 of my discs had been squashed together. (well thats what they think, because they can't xray etc). So i have a brace n have to sit certain ways etc. Then have to go back after bubs is born for an xray.
I'd mension it and ask to go to the physio x

i have sciatica but as cookie said it goes down from the lower back down through your bum, doesnt sound like it too me from what you said.
