This is my first ever pregnancy and i am 14 weeks tomorrow.
I had 12 symptoms at 3 weeks and then came the ms too, oh my goodness. Puking 40 times day and night is not my idea of having a fun time. TMI but here we go.
If i needed a wee i would have to physc myself up over the course of 5-6 hours to go as i spent so much time puking, i didn't want to get up to wee incase i puked all over the bathroom floor.I lost a stone within a couple of days and was stuck by my en suite (thankfully i have one as only just made it most times, toliet seat was up and door was ajar for easy access) for abour 6 weeks. We then had a holiday booked so i had to travel for 10 days solidly and i get travel sickness so spent a lot of time puking there too.
Anti sickness tablets did not work, in fact they made me more sick.
My Husband forced me to eat or threatened to call an ambulance as i was dehydrated and malnurished.
I sipped any liquid i could. Every day or 2 it would change as to what i could tolerate. Decaf tea very very weak would seem to help if i sipped it.
I ate little mouthfulls of dry bland foods every half hour, and if i puked, i brushed my teeth and then nibbled straight away again. I found eating and drinking seperately was better and if i kept so still for about half hour after it helps keep the food down to get some of it on the way to digestion. Sit partly upright at least.
If i craved something i tried it. 99% of the time it actually stayed down which was a blessing.
Meat and cheese sat heavy, so if something feels heavy in your tummy once, stay away from it as it WILL come back up. Keep a huge food pile next to the bed where you dont have to move anything but your arm to grab it. Then if someone cant bring you food then at least you have that to grab. Never let your tummy go over half way full of food, keep it at a constant level, as it will help.
Keep away from anything that will leave a film in your mouth and have sweets to suck when your not eating food. High flavour foods are bad too as your tummy is soo sensitive it just rebels. So unless your craving it, leave it alone.
Don't enter the kitchen or do the bins, get someone else to do the cooking and bin emptyng and keep the door shut for the kitchen. If someone is cooking be somewhere else. i had the bedroom door shut and kept sniffing my mints lol.
I forced myself to sleep when i felt even worse. It takes your mind off it and tiredness from it doesnt help.
It is really hard and when i say that i mean it. You will at points feel as though you cannot continue and it is okay to feel like that, i certainly wondered why the heck i was doing it, especially as you don't have a scan piccy or anything yet to keep focused on. It does take up your whole life. Tell someone when you feel desperate and let them listen to you moan. Time seems to stop still for that time, but there is a tunnel end and because we cannot see it we forget it exists. If you asked me at the time i would have rathered someone sat that giving me chinese burns solidly for that period of time (odd image i know) but it does consume you. I still wretch in the mornings from excess saliva and i re burst my blood vessles this morning in my eyes, but i can now look at my scan and see what i am doing it for.
