i thought it was just the weather but after a few searches on google iv discovered that its really common in pregnancy, it started off last week and the only way i can describe it is that feeling you get the morning after youve spent the night drinking a bottle of straight vodka (which i have never done ) but they felt really 'tight' and then i woke up on thursday and they was all chapped and horrible and its just been getting worse and worse, im probably not helping though because i will completely forget and start picking them, but they hurt soo bad!
just wondered if anyone else is/has suffered with this and has any tips on how to ease it, i cant use vaseline because the texture makes me go all funny

Yeah i have. OH went "ergh your lips are really dry". It's a wonder we ever conceived, between his comments and my cringing when he even looks at me these days lol.XX

yes! mine started in the 1ww! and have only just got a bit better! but they were really bad! x

that made me giggle, i know you what you mean, he only had to look at me and i give him a dirty look :haha:

God mine have been horrible, they are peeling and cracking..

I've been using Lush Ultrabalm .. brilliant stuff

mine have too!! its so weird as I have never heard of it as a symptom and I described it exactly the same way, as the same as when you've been drinking loads! I am going through pots of cream on my lips trying to moisten them!

i didnt think it would be a symptom either which is why i googled it because i dont normally get chapped lips in the winter and i actually found a thread off of this forum from like last year saying the same, so thought i would make my own thread and see if any others have it because then i can actually call it a symptom

OMG i didnt even know that was a symptom! I never get dry lips but the past few day they have been majorly dry last night i did a really BIG smile and my lips were so dry my bottom lip split a litte! Ouch lol

I have! I've needed to wear chapstick or lip gloss. I assumed it had something to do with the dry mouth/throat I'd been experiencing.

i really thought its the weather causing it as from last 2 days i am having very dry and chapped lips.

Yup! My lips are in a horrendous state - been applying lipsil, vaseline, coconut balm the works for the last few weeks!

Mine look horrendous, they are actually black in places from old blood where they have cracked. It looks like I've been sucking on a biro. :haha:

Mine are too, mine are always dry but they are seriously dry now! they look awful!lol!
xxx

How funny, mine have been really dry and they never normally are but I'd never have put it down to being pregnant until I saw this thread!!

neither did i, im quite happy now because i can actually say i have a rock solid symptom :happydance::happydance::happydance:

My lips were actually splitting, not good. Especially the top one. And wake up with a totally dry throat. I didnt know it could be pregnancy causing it. My brothers girlfriend gave me her carmex, its worked a treat x

my top lips the worst one, iv got a bit of a cold at the moment, and always wake up coughing which normally results in me being sick:dohh:

i just got my :bfp: today and for the last week my lips have been horrendous

wow, I had no idea that was a symptom. I've definitely had that over the last two weeks or so and just figured it was the cold air moving in.
