I am 17+3 with twins and I've been experiencing sharp stabbing pains down below for the past few days. I don't have a UTI as I've been tested a few days ago so I am hoping it is just pressure caused by the weight of the two babies.

Do you think it is worth getting checked out just in case it's a sign of dilation? My friend said dilation doesn't hurt and if it was anything to worry about I would likely be having extra discharge or bleeding, which I don't have.

Any thoughts?

Sound like "lightening crotch"

I had it with my son starting around 18 weeks. I just took it as a sign that baby was growing and doing well :) I think it is baby kicking down towards your uterus. :)

I had this for a few days last week. So bad it actually would wake me up in the middle of the night! I too was worried about dilation, but i posted a thread in 3rd tri and I guess its pretty normal. Hurts so bad though! A very uncomfortable pain, like knives up your who-ha! mine eventually went away...hope it never comes back lol!

I have this happen also. I asked my dr about at my 20wk apt yesterday and she said it is totally normal and is caused by the growing uterus and things stretching and pressure. Man it can hurt sometimes, but i'm glad it's normal as I was getting kinda worried.
