My sweet Emma Rose arrived on October 20 at 8:04 am, 7lbs 4oz 21 1/2 inches long. Quickest labor and delivery of my life, started hurting about 3 am, dropped our son off with his grandparents about 6:30, got to the hospital a little after 7, they went to check me at 7:30 and my water broke I was at a 7 and 100% effaced, in so much pain all I could do was scream. They did my blood work and got an iv for fluids at 7:43, she arrived at 8:04, completely natural, in a regular room, delivered by the nurses my doctor arrived 30 minutes after she did. It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced my husband said all I could say other then screaming was I have to get this baby out and it hurts so bad. I tore in two small places and had to have 6 stitches. But I felt great afterwards just a little sore I got pain meds after she was born and some zofran to settle my stomach. The nurses were amazing and really helped me through. So was my husband. She is being exclusively breastfed, my milk came in the day after she was born. And I plan to baby wear.. I've already lost all my baby weight and then some and my bleeding has almost stopped.

She is just beautiful, too precious. So many congratulations xx

AWE! congrats! That is what im scared of ......no meds during birth!! I bet u did GREAT. And she is just precious! God bless!

Congratulations! She looks so adorable!

can I ask...was the pain that intense afterwards that you needed medication or was it lingering pain? I assume you can safely breastfeed with the pain meds. Just curious as I'm on #3 but had an epidural with #1&2 and I'm trying for natural this time. But I didn't stop to think about pain afterward or having to use pain med that might interfere with breastfeeding.

The pain afterwards wasn't nearly as intense as during labor, it was mostly to just help my body relax I was shaking all over, and to help me not feel my stitches for a while and to be able to rest. Natural birth is the single most painful thing I've ever experienced, not trying to scare you out of it, its very very intense but if you can control your breathing in between the screams (trust me its all you can do) it will ease the pain some, you will have this intense urge to want to push, listen to your body, have a good support system (you won't want a bunch of people in the room for a natural birth trust me) it was just my husband and the 2 nurses that delivered her. Listen to the doctors, control your breathing the best you can, gentle pushes baby will pretty much push themselves out, and understand it will be very painful. Good luck :) no the meds didn't hurt my breastmilk :) it was given in my iv and my breastmilk came in the day after she was born. I did feel way better afterwards I had an epidural with my first. I didn't bleed nearly as much, wasn't as tired or weak feeling, didn't have to be cut or have nearly as many stitches, was able to get up and walk right after she was born etc

Thank you jzgrace. It never crossed my mind until I was there and had to do it naturally. It wasn't easy by no means but I knew its what I had to do :) thanks ladies :)
