Just been reading the whole thread. I've been on some of these forums when TTC unwittingly making normal conversation and getting shot down by random posters, left in an instant and discovered BNB where everything was sweet and moderated well. I think thats the key, strict moderation and users who think carefully before they write

St. Louis is modern, Springfield- not so much. But we are def not as country as Tennessee (where I used to live and love it (no offense to anyone in TN)). I do love it here in MO.

Ive had 'Smurf' in my head all day now as for the first hour or so (yeah, i was THAT bored) of looking round the other side I couldnt for the life of me work out why they were all using the word Smurf so much..until i realised Smurf and Poop were the same thing..so I shall now use Smurf instead of poop..just to confuse others.

THE DRAMA CORNER is the forum that I came from. They also have a teen section where the older moms talk mess about the girls and tell them theyre dumb and stuff. Horrid.

I was a member of a wedding site when I was planning my wedding and the amount of bitchiness there was unreal. People creating fake accounts to bash other people's wedding photos and ideas and the most shocking was when a woman put her venue and date up and another woman who she didn't get on with phoned her venue, posed as the other woman and cancelled her wedding!! Absolutely shocking - I soon left that!!

Ooo...now this may be related to the other forum I frequent. Especially if you "graduate" from the wedding portion and move on to the "married" section as well as the "pregnancy/baby" section.

If it's the one I am thinking of, it can get pretty bad...but I chalk it up to sad sad people with nothing better to do with their time, really.

I wouldn't honestly say it if it weren't about my own nationality. My British husband refers to me as "silly/crazy American" all the time. It's a term of endearment.

No fair enough sarcasm doesnt work well on forums but neither does alot of humour in general.
Only reason I thought she must have been being sarcastic was the thought that no one here would realy say something like that with intention to offend or be racist, horrid or degrading.
At least I hope not anyway
But then it is easier for those that its not aimed at to step back and see two sides and not so easy when its aimed or seemed to be aimed at you.
