Shopping early, jinx or smart??

I didn't buy anything until after my baby shower because I figured that I didn't want to spend money on stuff that other people might buy me so I didn't actually start buying stuff until about 32 weeks, except like the cot and stuff I bought that at like 20 weeks when I knew the sex. I'd wait at least until after 12 weeks and maybe even after you find out the sex because if it's a girl, your OH may want to go out and buy all pink stuff for her

We have some things. Anytime I see something on sale I like I pick it up and my grandmother bought so little outfits as well.

We'll do a "big" shopping trip after my shower to fill in anything we don't have. My shower is October 16th and Ill be 34 weeks.

i wont be buying until i am about 20 weeks as we are going on holiday at 16 weeks and need money for that. i've worked out if we spend 200 a week for 20 weeks we will have everything we need

LOOOL so true i didnt even consider that she may have a baby shower and get some thing there, who knows maybe they'll throw in a new Mercedes for Daddy

Yeah I waited til after I knew the sex to buy a few things, then waited again til after my shower so I could get whatever I really needed.

just had the 12 week scan today and everything was fine, the heart was beating fine it was measuring fine and it was kicking and swimming up a storm in there lool so i'm happy to buy a few things now!

Really, really, really don't go overboard buying things early though. You'll get a ton from friends and family, especially if you're having a shower.

Yeah i hear that just something to mark the occasion she's not planning the baby shower till January tho that seems a bit long to wait to buy stuff!!

Assuming I'm counting right...she'll only be 20 something weeks then, right?
That's actually super early for a shower. Generally they're help in early/mid 30s.

I'm 32 weeks and right now all we have is one pack of diapers, maybe 7 outfits, two packs of plain onesies, five receiving blankets and a couple small toys.

I know we're getting a ton at our shower and babies really do grow so quickly. I understand wanting to buy things, but really, it doesn't hurt to hold off!

I'll have to disagree and say buy when you like!
I barely bought anything myself and had so much given to us it was unreal. But Ava was smaller than everyone expected and some newborn stuff still drowns her. We could have done with more newborn and we have a ton! We just do so much washing it's unreal, she pukes everywhere, leaks nappys, wee's during changes - that amounts to ALOT of washing!
Plus most people bought us 3-6 months, thinking she would grow out of newborn quickly, but nope! x
