So I seen my OB today. She said there is this new thing where if you had a baby before 37w then it is recommended to get this shot from 16w to 36w every week. It goes in the hip. I said I'll do it. It helps to produce a full term baby instead of risk having another one early.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Is it steroids to promote baby's lung development?

Yes I have heard of it I have to do that as well. It's a progesterone shot. It's not 100% effective but I'm willing to do anything to make sure this baby stays in. My daughter was born at 27+6.

@Kiwi: thanks for that. My son came at 36w but she said it will really help. Plus I get extra ultrasounds lol

@fizzy : I'm not sure of the name

The shots are called Makena for me.
