Should I Change My Early Scan Appointment?

I had an early scan last Tuesday at 5+2. They could see a gest. sac and the start of a yolk sac but nothing else. She also said the gest. sac measured 4+4, but that was nothing to worry about. They re-booked me for next Tuesday, when I will be 7+2. There is no way my dates are out by very much, as I got my BFP at 7 days PO.

The thing is, I am worried. Last time I had an early scan and they told me all looked fine, but the gest. sac was irregularly shaped and I now know that's a sign of miscarriage. I did miscarry and started bleeding the night before my second scan and my husband was away abroad with work.

I am terrified that when I go for the scan on Tuesday they'll find out I am going to miscarry. I am having symptoms, but I keep thinking maybe I'm imagining them. Also, my husband might not be able to get the time off work to come to the scan on Tuesday, but he is off this week.

I thought about ringing and asking them if I can re-book for Friday when I'll be 6+5. I feel cheeky though. Also, I am worried that I won't be able to see a hearbeat and then I'll be even more worried. :nope:

I don't know what to do? Help?

i think if you feel like you want to change it to friday just call them and ask, because if worst came to worst you would want your husband their for support, and it also puts his mind at ease instead of him worrying too.
I hope you will be fine, but keep us updated hun xxxx good luck STICKY :dust:

The chances are they will be fully booked. I tried to change mine before and have gone in for emergency ones in privious pregnancys and there are so many girls needing these scans. But it is worth asking. Didnt want you to get your hopes up. i used to work in a scan department that did these early scans and we where always booked up. but you never no. i can understand you wanting someone there. I went to mine alone and it was scary. Being out on your dates is very common and also snographers dates can be out to. I was told intill a baby is present its hard to date. I was told i was 4 weeks at a scan and i new this wasnt possible. 2 weeks later i had a scan and was 7w4d.

I would wait Hun...The longer you leave it the more they can see. Don't worry about dates they grow at such different stages so many girls on here get dates changed then change again on the next scan. The extra days will make such a difference and the smaller it is the less they can see.., I'm sure your hubby could manage the time off if he knows how worried you are... Believe me, I'm an expert at the worrying and days seem like weeks in this game! It's up to you, the next person may say change it but they probably booked it for a weeks time for a reason. If you mc there's nothing you can do about it, I wanted one at 5+3 and the private scan place said leave it a few days, the difference between maybe seeing a hb or not. Mine was fine, hb was there. Good luck, fingers x'd it's a little slow in growing... So many of the same stories on here and the next post there was a hb!!

Thanks for the replies.

My husband definitely cannot get the time off on Tuesday an possibly all of next week, so I would have to go alone. He would obviously take the time off if he could, but it's not really his choice.

I rang and explained and there is no clinic on Friday this week, but they have booked me in for tomorrow afternoon. I am a bit worried it will be early, but I don't think it's possible to worry any more than I am and at least I'll know if things have moved on since the last scan.

good luck hun, im glad you have done whats best for you xx
