should we not be proud?

I get upset at BF blinkies sometimes. Not because I think anyones trying to put FF down I just havent come to terms with the guilt of quitting yet. Its my problem I have to deal with it, I wouldnt expect anyone to take down their blinkies. If I saw someone putting down FF like you mention I would prob be really upset. I havent got to the point where I can just brush it off yet. Im glad I havent seen it.

I am very proud to have BFd for as long as I have this time. My blinkies are to celebrate MY achievement not to demean anyone. :( I BF my first for 6 weeks and then switched to formula. I dont regret it at all. In some respects I think BFing is easier and in others I think FFing is easier - I've done both. Both my girls were loved the same and so far equally as healthy - Em is very rarely ill. :)

It sad that people think that a blinkie is there for any sinister reason. PP is right. People who really know you, know what you are about and if they dont then they dont know you and they dont matter. :)

The thing is, in regards to the blinkies, there ARE people who abuse the use of them... And when people see negative posts towards ff'ers from certain people, this can kind of show through them...

TBH, I really dont care... As I said. Its sad, and its sad hearing people bash ffing... I dont think i've ever seen anyone bash bfing...

oohhhh! There is/was an article on the web about how bfing is sextual abuse! It was quite disturbing how against bf this person was. So it is out there.

That isnt really what I was getting at... but... you are right just the same :D

I think this whole post was meaning: Can't we be proud of formula feeding and have a blinkie, just to show our feeding preference...without it being in spite, or about being offended about breastfeeding blinkies. The site she was referring to, was saying no it is impossible for us to be proud of something so "artificial and unnatural" and that we were doing it as a backlash.

I just don't get why people care how others feed their baby?
I couldn't care less if someone breast feeds.

I formula feed.
I don't see why anyone would care what I spend my money on.

Just wanted to add: I am proud of feeding my baby. I also am not offended by BF blinkies, because like I said, I don't sit here and think about how other babies are getting fed. I would be sitting here worrying if a baby wasn't getting fed. Not like someone would have a "STARVING BABY" blinkie.

imagine that! :dohh:

We have every right to be proud!! I am damn proud of FF, my daughter is a VERY happy, healthy content little girl!
We should all be proud for being moms, plain and simple, regardless of how our babies are fed!! It's the hardest job in the world and we are all doing wonderful jobs at it, breastfeeding or formula feeding!

I dont think i've ever seen anyone bash bfing...

I suppose it goes back to personal perception - what one person sees ask 'bashing' and another doesn't, really depends on your view point.

I've seen lots varying from silly and snide to downright offensive. Even on here. Sorry but you have at times Ryder.

I like to see ALL the different blinkies. I especially like the one that says something like 'Just as smart, just as healthy and just as loved' - that's it in a nutshell for me. :)

I think ryder was saying she hadn't seen this on here although Ive seen both tbh 8-[ Ive jumped on people for using the word 'discusting' to describe BF and prob a few more so comments that offend both sides of the methods do happen. Just never see why we do these convos

Anywayyy wasn't really why I quoted it ....thats shocking  when you say article do you mean some nobber on a blog page or ....?

I really like that one too

i'm sort of shocked as to where this thread has gone....

I got my answer which as Wendy pointed out was the real reason why I posted in the first place, and that is YES! I SHOULD BE PROUD!!

good for all of you for sticking to what yuo believe in, it is truly a great thing.

My last comment is that us mommies need to stick together, whether we are formula feeding or breast feeding. Being a mom, as I have learned, is the hardest job of them all and the last thing we need is to be riduculed for how we love and nourish our children. I love Alexander....end of story.

Very true, sweetie! :hugs:

I might feel a twinge when I see the BF milestone blinkies, but it's never a 'mad' thought at anyone who has them in their signatures. It's more just my own thoughts and feelings with not being able to do it myself. However, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean that I don't think anyone else shouldn't be proud of their accomplishments. Hell yes, if I had made it this far BF then I'd be damn proud too!

I really like the "Just as loved, healthy and smart" blinkie as well. Might have to figure out where people got them from and put it in my sig too!
